Hangin' out here beats a tree on the head any day!

Titus, AL

« on: May 13, 2009, 02:04:47 PM »

i know it's trivial...probalby NOBODY ELSE CARES. but since i run another board...and i am and Engineer, i notice little things like THIS...and i'm curious to know "why".

why is it....up on top of this board...underneath where it says "Hello Redvalk" and has my avatar to the left....there is some more info that says:

Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.
Total time logged in: 2 days, 9 hours and 35 minutes.

No user is in chat.

ok, the first two are links....pretty obvious what they are. Same with the LAST thing....telling how many users are in chat. obvious there too...

MY QUESTION, why does that "Total time logged in:" .....always show some "bogus" amount of time? It never really reflect how long i'm logged in. When i first come in...it says some long amount. the amount doesn't seem to change while i'm logged in...and in fact, seems to say the same thing for days on end...every time i log in. So, just what is it tracking/showing? is it 'broke'?

JUST CURIOUS..........enquiring minds want to know.........

Tim, I'm really not sure to be honest.  I never really paid much attention to it.

That is correct, what i am finding out (running another board) is that every time you log in, your time logged in is "clocked" and that amount of time is shown at the top of your login/user screen. The time really adds up quickly...I do like seeing the number of post from users...

1 day, 6 hours and 54 minutes for me...and 88 posts :-)

I would think that talk of someone's package being in the oven would tetter on the edge of getting band from the board especially if a picture shows up! LOL!

When I turn on the PC I check out the VRCC then I just minimize and open a new window. Most of the time I've got up too 8  windows opened at the same time. I'm a member of several forums but no doubt the VRCC gets the most hits here at home and on the road with my laptop. I'll make a guess that I'm very near the top with " Ride Reports " ( with pictures ) also and I stay clear of the political BS so many love to post. The 9 weeks I just did without working after the surgery helped me get to where I'm at today  Wink   crazy2

No way anybody has more time with less posts than me:
Total time logged in: 8 hours and 38 minutes.
Posts:  4 or 5 I think

I've been keeping an eye on this and the VOA sites and the MD VRCC site since I laid eyes on the beautiful machine in 2000, just rarely post.
But the tech board has saved my *ss many times.

Total time logged in: 3 days, 4 hours and 34 minutes.  174 posts.  And that includes the Texas board, since they're both on this format.
