For those of us going to the Meet in the Middle ride on March 11:
I plotted out a route that takes freeway until we get north of Houston, and then gets off on some side roads after that.  Red Diamond plotted out a route that starts east of town, and stays off freeways entirely.  I'm not sure what the group prefers, whether to take the extra time to get east of town, and get more FM roads, or to just book it out of town and hit FM roads later.  We could take a group on each if desired.
Here's Red Diamond's post from the main MIM thread:
"At Cleveland, 1725 to New Waverly via Hwy 150, 1375 to hwy 149 Anderson, 149 thru Anderson to FM3090 to FM224 North to hwy 39 North until intersection of Hwy 7, East to Centerville."

Here's a link to a map of mine.  I started it from Seabrook, where I live, but put in a few waypoints along the way.  The "in-Houston" waypoints are suggestions of where to meet other folks to pick up riders on my way through town.

Let me know here if you want to take either route.

Side note:
Those of ya'll who have seen my left hand, and are familiar with touch typing, will understand why I miss the "R" and the "T" sometimes when I type.  Thus, when I tried to type "the Meet in the Middle ride on March 11" above, it came out "the Meet in the Middle ride on Mach 11".  I corrected it, but if anyone wants to go Mach 11, let me know.  I'll see what we can do.  I might have a spare rocket engine at work we can "liberate".

There are a few.  The Saturn V had five big ones, in just the first stage.  If I believed in a thing called "overkill", that would be it.  However, I don't believe in overkill, so light 'er up!

And a very long straightaway.

[I guess I haven't seen enough Steve Martin movies.  I didn't get the chair comment.]

Amazingly enough, this thread wasn't as useful as I thought it might be.  I was looking for who was interested in which route, and who was going from Houston.  Anyone?

(:

It looks like whichever route we take, we'll have to leave pretty early in the morning, unless you live up on the north side of town.  When I find out where people are coming from, and which route, I'll specify some meeting locations and departure times.

Work considered, I shall attend. Kinda figured I'd meet up with ya'll near the I-45 / Exit 90 area, (better waiting area at that new gas station) or the 75/Teas rd intersection. Wanta ride the new trike.

BJ and I will not be going on this ride.   Angry  At my ham radio meeting last night, support for the bicycle ride this Sunday is lacking.  I have to fill a spot in the volunteer ranks.  It is called the Great Escape ride because it goes by the county jail.  It is a BP MS150 warm up ride.
I was hoping that we would have enough volunteers for the bike ride that I could make this Meet in the Middle ride, but it just isn't in the cards.

Y'all ride safe!

As per my post in the main MIM thread, we're waving off till the 18th.  I can't make it that day.  Does someone want to lead the ride up to Centerville from Houston?
