Just in case anyone is interested, wife and I took out 2 more Forest Rats today.

Actually hers was a Forest Rat, mine was a huge old dog.

I got mine about 1:20 PM out in the country.

Had just got the front wheel back on the Chevy and we took him out for a run.

I had thought I saw something out of the corner of me eye in the ditch.

Ditch hadn't been mowed so the grass and weeds were tall.

Was runnin about 70 and playing with the feel of the new degree tree in it.

Bumped him up to 85 and had just set the cruise.

About that time there was a boom, and the Chevy was jumping all over the road, thank God there wasn't anything coming the other way.   My son said what the F**k was that, jokingly I said I just kicked mom's butt out.  He spun around in the seat and didn't see anything.    Whatever it was, it has come in on the right side, just in front of the rear fender.   The 4 link system grabbed him by the shoulder and tossed him around some before spitting him out the other side.   When I located him in the mirror he was doing 360's up the zing zang.   I'd say he probably did about 15 or 20 of them.  When he stopped, he was laying on the other side of the road on the shoulder.   It was one dead big ole bruiser of a dog.  He was the size of a St Bernard, but was more on the hound family.

I turned around and went back to see what the damage was.    Found a bunch of hair on the 4 link, and a blood splatter on the exhaust and it was starting to smell.   Burning blood stinks.

Took the pucker out of me britches and headed for home at a slower pace.

Just as we pulled into the back garage my cell phone rang.  It was mom, she had just hit a deer with the Toyota Highlander.    We drove over to where she was, and tried to get her calmed down.      Finally, I said hey mom, when you want a new vehicle tell me and we will trade off whatever you are driving.    At least it got her to laughing.    About that time the City PD car pulled up, and asked his basic questions, and then went from there.   He asked her if her Insurance Company required an accident report.    She said ask him, he was a Motor officer in California.     I told him no, not required, so he gave her a Accident report # and drove off.     She came over to my side of the Chevy and said what was that all about.     I told her she had to go run off her mouth about me being on the CHP, so he took care of his Brother.

Got her back home and she asked me to take her to work.     Told her the only thing to drive was the Chevy, she said I don't give a Sheet, just pick me up in your truck after work. cooldude

Best explaination I heard was that it just starts over. Kinda like Dec 31, that is not the end of the world, just the end of the year. It is the end of an era as they track it.

Rats! Maybe I can get away next summer to Des Moines. Or, maybe they will have a better machine for you and we can meet at one of the summer rides.  We have not always seen I2I, but I think it would be great to share some stories.

It is OK to repeat yourself.

That is an indication that you are getting old and senile.
