That was when I had my 3 day Horse Pistol stay for the Flu bug. Oh ya, I never took my lap top cause the last time I was there with it some SOB bugged me. Took me almost a month to get rid of him. I have my big box backed up off site in 3 different locations. As I found a fuzzed up .exe or DLL's I downloaded them from the back up location. Trust me, that was the best damn $$$$ I spent, and all my family said I was wasting their Inheritance.. Guess what, ain't gettin no sheet from them anymore, and 1 of the kid's now uses the service also. LOL. |

Got da flu anyway and with the flu and the shot, it was a beech. Into the ER and 3 days and 4 nights in da Horse Pistol, they loaded me up with meds, and the knocked it loose in the time above. Still a little weak, but I'm doing good enough to piss RED off, so I is a gettin better. LOL................ Look out for that firkin skillet, it slipped out of her hand. |

Unless you get sick immediately after the shot it has nothing to do with your illness. It either adjusts your immunity or it doesn't. There's no degree of impact with it.  |

Have not had the flu in 20 years, most I got the shots, some not, never sick from the shot (sore arm thou).... except as a 6yo, they gave me dad's (bigger) shot by mistake, that made me sick.
As part of a mobility team, I once was given typhoid, yellow fever (both halves), malaria, DPT, and a couple others, in both arms at the same time. After I sat back down down, I passed out and fell off the chair. When they got me off the floor, they told me I was setting a bad example for the enlisted men. Well EXCUSE ME! Didn't feel too chipper the rest of the day. And of course, we did NOT mobilize anywhere.

When getting shots to go to Korea, we walked down a line of people giving shots in each arm.
I had this big lad in front of me, that looked stronger than a Bull. The 1st needle he saw he passed out. 3 of us had to carry him through the line while getting our own shots.
He was in different outfit once we got to Korea, but he sure got hassled on the plane going to Japan, for further orders.

I usually have taken the shot when it's been available and have not suffered any ill consequence as a result. I'm not quite as mature as R.J. but in the past few years have developed a physical condition that makes the flu a significant risk for me. Since that time I've listened to my physician and taken the shot every year. "I don't always listen to my doctor, but when I do I prefer Dos Equiis."  |
