As for the DI, on the last day, we knocked him down, handcuffed him then suitcased him and left him in the middle of the training room.   cooldude

Mornin  Hooter, have you voted for our little lady today yet?    If not, the old saying is Get-R-Done.

I love your happy ending.

Take care.

RJ, someone might argue five Navy Crosses trumps one Medal of Honor.  I believe Chesty's five Navy Crosses are more than any other service member ever earned.

We have a waco uber-liberal dem. old lady for our VA state senator named Toddy Puller (she married into Chesty's family), who gets traction on her last name.  She is a fruitcake, and I seriously doubt she and Chesty would see eye to eye on anything.

Hooter, our (boy scout) life-saving swim coach was a huge guy who liked to bear hug scouts (I must have been 13) and half drown them on the final exam for passing the course.  He didn't like me anyway because I spoke my mind.  Now when you are bear hugged and go under there are a series of maneuvers you are supposed to try... but no 13yo could get out of this guy's grip if he didn't let you out.  He gave me an evil grin when I swam out to retrieve him in our 20foot deep-end of a double olympic size pool.  He bear hugged me as expected and we went to the bottom.  At the time, I could hold my breath for about 2.5 minutes, if relaxed, and I did not fight him in any way.  I just stared at him from the bottom of the pool.  I could not outfight him but I could outlast him underwater, and he finally let go and swam up.... so did I, behind him, and as we both surfaced, I put him in a cross chest carry and pulled him to the side of the pool.  He said he should fail me for not trying to get loose, and I said I was not going to let him panic me like he did the other boys, and I did it right given the size and strength disparity.  I passed.  The guy wore size 16 shoes.

Jess,

Not unlike you I pretty much speak my peace as well. The outcome because of doing so can have several different results. I've had my share of problems speaking my peace but ya know what, at least I can look at myself in the mirror and know I don't always HAVE TO agree just because. I like to stay true to myself. I choose my fights anymore and where things don't directly involve me I stay out of them. Oh, big guys do fall!

The magazine says they are killing the contest.

Too much hate & threat mail & posts on Twitter and Facebook.

Had we of been able to vote to the end, we would have taken 1st place with Michelle.

Vell, if'n ya get some moisture, send some up here.    Crops, grass & etc is all burning up.         I haven't mowed my yard in 5 1/2 weeks now.     I did run over it today just to knock down the weeds, that will grow in anything.

Mom said we are supposed to get up in the high 90's to low 100's *  later in this week and or maybe the 1st of next week.

Blame GW for this pissy weather.     Can't blame Bam Bam as he hasn't done crap in 2 terms now, so he is safe.

Do to my allergies, and the grandkids also, we turn the air on when it hits 77* the 1st time in the spring and turn it off when we have to turn the heat on.

My avg electric bill for the past 3 years is $116.29.

If ya got allergies ya got to live with the electric bill.     cooldude Evil tickedoff

My old Dr believed in the shot.  Then he left to go head up an ER in a different Hospital affiliate.

Now my replacement Dr. did not believe in the allergy shot.   So, never got one.  Actually I think I'm surviving this season easier than before.

Some people laugh when you mention "allergies". I tell them that I wish my allergies on them for 1 month then come back and talk with me about how you feel! Sore throat, plugged up tighter than a bulls ass in fly time, headache, coughing, sneezing, fartin and burpin and all constantly. Upset stomach from the crap runnin down my throat 24 hours a day. Ya, its a joke!

Hooter, been there and done that.

I never really got allergies until I was in my 50's.

My youngest daughter got them when she was born.
What a kick in the ass that was for mommy & daddy.

She seems to be having easier seasons now since she turned 45.

My youngest ended up with my good fortune.   Undecided  she has been miserable since she hatched and has shots on a regular basis.  Now I'm having people tell me they have the crap and have never had a problem before. These are people in their 50s too. Ragweed is my worst and the fields are full of it now. Looks like fields full of mustard.

Mom & I were talking about it the other night.      She said when I really started have a bad case of it was in 2002.   So I was in my 70's.

Shots don't do diddly crap for me.     I think they get worse after a shot, so I don't get a shot anymore.

That was definitely a sad situation.

From the posts, at least he didn't suffer.
And, he was doing what he wanted.

My son, his bride & my grandson all took off yesterday morning about 7:30, nice and cool.

I had the Chevy, son was on MGM, ending speedo reading was 413 miles, Valkyrie read 413, the Chevy Trike read 410.   Got a tad warm on the way home, but it was all enjoyable.

Never had any close calls and top speed was 85, and that was passing a semi.   I don't dilly dally around passing them especially if I see a lot of road alligators laying out there in wait to scare the crap out of ya when ya hit one.    I did get a turkey, he walked right up out of the ditch, in front of my rear wheel.    Son said feathers just flew and there wasn't much left of the big bird.   He said he had been pretty well squashed.

The son & da Grandson are way past that stage.     Da son is 49 and da grandson doesn't follow too far behind that.

Back when both were little, it was, 'Daddy, I got to potty, are we about there?'

Not too long ago one of my grandsons of 21 asked me if I was afraid of dying? I told him no absolutely not. I also told  him that I had been close before so it didn't bother me. twp things in this world you will never remember, being born and dying. He thne looked kinda puzzled,,,He then asked me if I would like to know when I was going to die? Year, date and day? I also told him no, I like surprises.
He said he would like to know so he could do what he wanted to. I told him he could not knowing. Live everyday to the fullest and you obtain that goal. The conversation ended after I told him: "you only have so many sunrises so see as many as you can".

We were chasing a suspect up a fire road.    Had a little Kawasaki trail bike.

Come across another guy who had fell on his machete, it nicked his main artery to the brain.     Same one that they missed on you.

I got him on the trail bike somehow, don't ask as I don't remember.    I'd say it was adrenaline.     One of my fellow searchers got on the radio and told them we needed an ambulance pronto and one who knew how to stop the blood flow, at the base of this fire road.

That was a trying day for all of us.....

Guy survived due to this one ER Nurse who came in the meat wagon.

Ya know, if you set back and think of everything, (which is a stretch now) that didn't hurt then but does now, no wonder its hard to get outa bed everyday! Between 28 years in LE and 33 going on 34 in the fire service, I've beat myself up way too much. But, we have survived, and I feel as though I'm one lucky person and wouldn't have traded any of it for anything!   cooldude

Only regret I have for time served is I didn't make a career of it.   At 20 years old and a T/Sgt, I'd of been a M/Sgt at the next jump.

Ranks have all changed since I was in.
