Well its that time again,  after almost 4 years the Peritoneal Mesothelioma returned.  Will be admitted to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha tomorrow for debulking surgery followed by Hyperthermal chemotheraphy.   Looks like I will be out of action for the next couple of months.   Should be out of the hospital in about a week, prognosis is good, and this go around shouldnt be as bad as the last time.  It will take about a month and a half to recover from the surgery, and probaby have to do a 6 month chemo regimin starting 2 months post surgery.   I am going to be pissed if I have to miss Inzane.   This procedure was developed by Dr Brian Loggie after his father died from the disease, and there was no treatment avaliable.  It got the nickname Shake and Bake from shaking out, or removing all visible signs, they then cook the abdominal area for about 90 min with heated Carboplaten.  This type of cancer is extremely rare and before Dr Loggie, was universally fatal within 2-3 months of diagnosis.   At almost 73 years young, I am hoping this will be the last time to have to make this trip, but I am in pretty good shape for the shape I am in. LOL.  Any good thoughts or prayers welcomed.

You have a very good attitude.

I hope it is less painless than the other time as you have stated.

Good Thoughts about a Good Recovery.

PRAYER WORKS AS Joe's Grand Daughter is a fine example.

Thank God for Doctors as well though. Sounds as if this treatment is based on a very good Doctor's Passion for his patiants.

My wife's little brother Daniel (my son Joesph Daniel and his son Daniel are named after him) died from this disease at 26 years-old. That was when there were no real treatments and no hope was offered.

When you beat it the first time, it felt like a victory for him too. Prayers sent for you to beat it again.
