Hey guys, I love, love, love the sound of my 6 in 6 but on freeway even with ear plugs...
So I'm looking to put on my stocks. I checked the tech section but didn't see if I need to get new crush gaskets.?? Any other tips or info is appreciated. Thanks ahead.

I would. The ones on the bike now are already "pre-crushed" and may not seal good on the stock pipes. I did this when I switched from my Cobras. hay Jimmyt

100% for sure put new exhaust gaskets on when you change pipes (Honda #: 18291- mn5-650). You will need 6 of them at $2.50 each.

Be careful taking them off. I've busted more studs trying to loosen them than when tightening them. You might want to order a few before removing the old pipes just in case.

You can put them on with blue Loctite - 242 - and they won't walk off, while the 242 is for removable parts. Adds just enough friction. I do that because I can't be sure my pipe installs here will be retorqued a couple more times - then I get the blame when nuts walk off. Yeah - replace the gaskets whenever you change the mating surfaces.

Using an anti-seize compound on them is a smart thing to do.
For quite a few reasons. 1, 2 & 3

Now, isn't that an interesting conundrum.

If you have a hard time getting the old gaskets out find a small screw driver that you're not overly attached to and sharpen the working edge down sharp like a knife. Works great for getting under the !@$!@%!!$^@ gaskets to get them out. ( Thanks MarkT for this tip!!!)

I would put new crush rings if I were you. Pity you dont like the 6x6 I would be in heaven if i could afford a set of them. Different strokes I guess. I have been trying to make a set myself. Horrible failure I'm afraid. But being a priest it would probably raise even more eyebrows than I already do if she sounded that good. lol
