As you all my know, I have a Valkyrie standard with a MotorTrike conversion, 6 degree rake and the OEM Hondaline windshield. I'm always looking over the top of the windshield. I'd really have to dip my head down to look through it.

I was just looking at the F4 website and saw that they make a windshield for my ride that's 4" taller (and 1.5 " wider on each side) I'm wondering if it would be that much of an improvement to justify the cost.
See link below;

Any thoughts on the benefits of either looking over or through a windshield?

If you must ride with a windscreen you should be looking over it.  Wind and eyesight take two different paths.

I like looking through... except when you can't see through, like when it is raining, or
there's too many squashed bugs and you're looking into the sun, or...

I have a "look over" now, can't ride with my face-shield up anymore, but I
can always see...

Sitting comfortably, not straight up and not slouched, how far is your nose over the shield you have now (and what type helmet do you wear)?  I wouldn't go up 4", if I only need 2" to optimal height.  In a driving rain (or after being spattered with mud mist), you cannot see thru most shields at all, and you MUST be able to look over

Part of the cost of the F4s is the Lexan quality, clarity and endurance.  And the Lexan is probably better in the rain too.  Otherwise, I'd get the exact right height shield from Clearview (lucite).  Course, F4s will probably cut you a correct height, for more money (same as Clearview).

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.

i have a stock windshield on my IS, it's the perfect hieght for me, i look right over it and don't feel any wind effects.   i want to replace it one of these days with that one that doesn't scratch, i believe it's polycarbonate?  not sure, but i've seen a video posted on youtube with the guy scapping the crap out of it with steelwool and it doesn't scratch, another video of it getting hit with a baseball bat and it doesn't shatter.....
this isn't the video of the steel wool.....

If you look at the video on the F4 website below, he does the same kind of presentation. He has a windshield wiper wrapped in steel wool.

By your Avatar, it looks like you have an Interstate. Here's the link to supposedly a direct replacement for the IS in all dimensions;
