I think the GIVI trunk looks nicer.  My opinion only.

Bigguy...

Nice job there!  I like the way you kept the original luggage rack in case the trunk ever comes off.

BF...

What kind of bags and truck are those??  I have the National bags... so the truck won't really match, but those look really cool!!

Makes me wonder if I can coat the National bags with fake leather to avoid having to paint them to match... of course I already painted the bike, so the bags won't be any harder than that.  It's just majorly time consuming.

Is that an after-market fairing also?  Nice setup!

It looks like a HD trunk. Love them.

CajunRider.....

It's a Harley leather tour pak.  It ain't cheap.  The bags are Mustang bags.  The rails are OEM, but I had to make two 1 1/4" spacers to spread them out at the rear to make them work.  The bags are mounted on modified Honda Valk OEM leather bag mounts.  Directline lists them new for @ 125.00.  The fairing is a Woodys fairing.  Glenn is a site sponser here.

fudgie....

Yep, HD leather tour pak.  I mounted it on an aftermarket luggage rack......the "Valkyrie chromed lazer cut carrier" from Big Bike Things.  The big, wide, flat chromed luggage rack.  It was 89 bucks when I ordered it, but I see the price has gone up on it  now.

http://www.bigbikethings.com/Page3.html

Going to add two 9", 10 led light bars to the luggage rack just under the trunk on both sides.  Probably going to add another 9" light bar under the trunk on the rear of the luggage rack to act as a run/brake light too.

Might replace the HD OEM back rest on it with a Corbin.  The only place on the tour pak that says Harley on it is on the back rest.  Corbin sells a direct replacement for it (like the HD tour pak, it ain't cheap either).....

Yeah, that's kinda what I got it for.....local, 'round town grocery getter....place for the wifes purse and such.  It's great for that and plenty roomy....lots of space for a couple half helmets or a couple jackets.  You could mount a rack on top of it (seen it done before), but I don't really think that it would stand up to any kind of real weight stacked on top of it.....at least not for very long without the lid starting to sag.

There's a metal bottom in it with some pre-drilled holes in it.  None of them were where I needed them, so I measured off of them to where I needed them for the rack.  From there, I just measured it square and centered where I wanted it and drilled my holes in the rack.  I used what I had at home to bolt it down......cap screws with big washers on top (the washers came from Lowe's) and nuts with a lock washer on the bottom under the rack.  I had drilled my mounting holes in the rack to where I thought it needed to be, but that was before I got the wife to sit on the bike to where I could really see where I needed to be.....it needed to move foward some.  So I had to re-drill my mounting holes in the rack about an 1 1/4" foward from where I had originally drilled them.

I plan to replace the cap screws with some button head screws/bolts just as soon as I get a list together of everything I need and head to Ace to get them.

Hope that helps and answers your questions.

I have one that I put on my Tourer for long trips. I had to do a lot of work to it to make it stand up to abuse they go through. Added fiberglass to the inside along with a wood bottom to strengthen the whole thing. Added a piano hinge because the original ones broke. Added LED tail lights because the stock one weren't bright enough. Other than that it's been serviceable.
