Do Your Best and Miss the Rest!

Yorkville, Illinois

« on: February 27, 2012, 08:09:13 PM »

I obviously don't have the posts many of our members have. I'm VRCC member 10177. Many great members preceded me and many have joined after me.  We've obviously had thousands of members come and go..and then some, like myself, come back again. (I was without a Valk for nearly 3 yrs after my wreck).

Every time I poke my head in here, I'm amazed by how many guests we have at any given time. Many times we have more guests online than members. I'm sure some like the anoniminity. I just wish we'd be a "tad" more respectful of one another so "maybe" some of our guests would be more inclined to sign up as members.

One would think that the board would have seen it's biggest heyday back in 2001 or so...when our bikes were new and still being produced by American workers. But yet it was just last April that the stats shows we had the most members online in a single day. This year will be my 4th Inzane. I've never witnessed any anomosity of any members towards another at the previous three that I've attended. I just wish we'd have that same respect for fellow members here on the board sometimes.
The VRCC will continue to grow and flourish if we give guests a reason to want to join.

Like what you said. The personal attacks will soon drive some away. It gets boring.

I don't see alot of ripping and shredding of members?
everyone has an opinion and I strongly feel they should be encouraged to express it.
(besides sometimes those opinions are down right funny Cheesy 2funny )

Sad but true, I know of atleast one member who has gone to the method of looking at the board, and if the first three posts aren't M/c related he skips the board for the day.

But, If you look at those so called "feisty" threads they are the same members responding back and forth to each other's mud slingin'.

Your point is well taken..but my post wasn't about me..I've got pretty thick skin and enjoy mixing it up myself. Because I don't agree with someone doesn't mean I have to attack their character.

As a side note, it's March 1 today...closer to the day us Northerners can ride regularly again(we have more than just cold issues--like the blasted road salt). It's almost time to start the preventative maintenance routine and to add the new chrome. Looking forward to another season of riding the Dragon. When something has been taken away from you, ya tend to appreciate it more if you're luck enough to get it back, like I was.    Stay safe!
