Been hearing and reading dribs and drabs about how some of these folks living in AMERICA want to live by and be judged under sharia law. uglystupid2 I M H O that is way wrong. You come to AMERICA you live and WILL be judged by AMERICAN law. When i was in the Navy they explained to us rather clearly that if we were arrested in a foreign country we MOST likely would be judged under that contrys laws and NOT AMERICAN laws. So why is it that some of these diverse groups leave their countries and want to ONLY play by their rules in our country?? crazy2 Last time i checked we are a country of our own laws that maybe only diplomats can get around! Or am i wrong?? Again-and this is JUST ME-sharia law DOES NOT belong here in AMERICA. Rant off-fer now. Wink RIDE SAFE.

I hate to say it, the atheist got what he deserved.  Sometimes stupid hurts.  If you walked into a Hells Angels biker bar and started insulting them, you would surely get a beat down.  It sucks to be him, but he reaped what he sowed.

Did the atheist get what he deserved??  Probably...

Is it legal to physically harm someone just because you don't like what he's doing?  Big fat NO.

That judge should be dis-barred and kicked off the bench.  It's called LAW... not "feel good religious angst".

Remember separation of church and state??  Remove the religious aspect and all you end up with is ASSAULT AND BATTERY.

I missed the part where it said the guy walked into a Mosque. Where did it say anything about him being anywhere other than a Halloween party?

I agree with you, it wasn't the same as walking into a bar.  But, I do know that people hold their religions sacred.  And with that being said, people do need to be respectful.  If a guy was dressed up as a mockery of Jesus, I would be upset, also.  I wouldn't resort to violence.  I get ticked off when I see people posting videos of burning bibles on youtube.  To me, it's the lowest form of "humor".
One last thing:  the atheist dude had guts, just poor judgement.  The judge should be disbarred, I would agree.

It would be NICE if they were respectful but they don't NEED to be respectful, and under our Constitution being assaulted for being an atheist or expressing derogatory views about religion is unacceptable.  The judge needs to be removed.

And, I have a lot more respect for the atheist as to opposed bigoted, intolerant, bible thumping extremists who try to force their values onto others by forcing their religion into government... like Rick Santorum and a host of others... or any Muslim that wants to put Shariah law ahead of constitutional principles.

Besides... Christians are atheists anyway... there are lots of gods they don't believe in, they just believe in their particular variety.
