Back in the late 80's, my high school had a few of the pro wrestlers put on a couple of matches in the gym. I believe one of them was Jimmy "Superfly" Snooka. Think that how you spell it. Superfly had a habit of walking the top rope. It just so happened my mother and I were right in line with the rope he was to walk. Of course, when he started to walk the rope, the opponent pulls the opposite rope, tripping Superfly. I saw him catch himself and his privates just above the rope. He then rolls off and makes a big production of racking himself. A business associate I know is a mini Vin Diesel lookalike. Even talks like him. Cool guy. He is a wrestler but in the minor leagues. He told me of all the tricks they do to make it real. And finally, my wife was a paramedic for a while and told me how they would put small slivers of glass in their wristbands and cut themselves at certian times just to make the show better. I used to be a fan, but very early on I got bored with it. Same thing every time.

of course they are not really fighting each other, its for entertainment,, and believe this or not,John Wayne never shot a man either!!
a wrestler gets a shot of Novocaine in the forehead and he uses either his finger nails or has a blade stashed someplace when he falls out onto the floor and cuts himself,, look at all the old timers foreheads,,

They are also about the single poorest example to youth imaginable.
I have no respect whatsoever for their livelihood.

When I was a young GI stationed at F E Warren AFB in Cheyenne Wy, I always had a second or third job. One of those jobs was as a security guard for Burns Security (don't think they exist anymore) and we worked then wrestling matches 2 or 3 times a year. These were "Pro Wrestlers" that came to the local civic center or guard Armory and they filled the palce up. They would invariably taunt the crowd until some redneck would jump in the ring or grab the wrestler or the would wit until they had been tossed out of the ring. Our instructions were to back off and let the wrestlers handle these situations and if they needed help the other wrestlers would join in. By the last match of the night when everyone was half in the bag, there was more action outside the ring than inside the ring. The blood in the stands was real.

I would be the first to say they are in great shape or have great skills, but that does not make the staging part any less a put on.
