Trunk not good, saddle bags not good, The only place I can think of is tank bib, I also do upholstery and could make a tank bib to fit cd player but would like to find another location. Maybe there is a small cd player on the market that can mount in fairing or do you have sugestions where to mount it.

Get yourself an ipod. Put all your CD's on the ipod, Switch your radio to AUX and presto you have your all your CD's. You will have to locate the AUX jack under the left side cover. Others here will show you pic's or do a search. I now have all my music an my phone so I don't even need to bring ipod. Have fun.

What he said... I believe the ride's just bumpy enough that even with a high-dollar CD player with good buffering, CDs would skip terribly.

Hey Wood Got all my discs loaded on my Garmin 660.More than enough room there for tons of tunes. Hard wired on my 3 Valks so always have music. Never thought I would need it but won't be without it now. Chrome

Ditto what both of them said. A CD player will skip terrible on a bike. An mp3 player is the way to go. I put a Sony DSX-S100 in my Woody's fairing......
They also have upgraded models with bluetooth....

OK, this is going to make a real dumb ass out of me but here goes, I have never owned an Ipod or garmin 660, I have heard of them but never seen one. Don't know how they work. Can they be hooked to the bike speakers?
Will the sony DSX-100 fit in the I/S fairing?

I-pod is a digital music player. Most phones have a digital player built in. The Garmin has a player built in. Almost any of them will reproduce cd quality music with no skipping. Google is your friend in this case. I have a Blackberry that I use as my music player and can store up to 5000 songs. Probably a better way to go. You can get a mount for the handlebars and hook up to the AUX input to the radio in a Interstate(standard equipment)

if you do get an Ipod, get a ipod touch as it does not have a hard drive, therefore no drive to be damaged by vibration.

You may not need an Ipod or an MP3 player... do you have a smart phone of any type? Or are you thinking of upgrading?
Most smart phones... and some of the "dumb" ones can store quite a bit of music...... Stand alone MP3 players are going to be a thing of the past in a few years.... You do need a computer with a disc drive to store music on one of these...
I use my iPhone... just have about 15 DAYS of non-stop music on mine...
And it plugs right into the AUX jack on the Interstate I have it on a cheap mount on my handlebars made out of a cheap plastic iPhone holder and an extra mount I had from something or other....
Bonus is, if some one calls, the call comes thru the speakers.... and the other person can ALMOST hear me .......
Just an FYI...

I bought a 1GB MP3 for $10, hooked it up to the AUX, and used it for those digital files when out of radio signals ridding in the mountains.
The IS has an excellent 6 memory search for when you're travelling, and going from Las Vegas to Vancouver BC I was only without a signal for maybe 1 hour the whole 20 hr ride.

+1. My girlfriend has an iPod classic and I have a Touch. When we try to use hers on the bike, it freezes up because of the vibrations (rough roads, speed bumps, etc), but the touch, since it has no moving parts inside, doesn't.

I use the GPS, or put my I-pod in that pouch next to the tach, I use to have a CD changer in one of the saddle bags until it quit working, I will say it didn't skip very much only on real rough roads or crossing RR tracks, But Cd's are old tech now days so if you were going buy one don't go digital you will be happier, and yes you can pipe it though your Aux on your system. Good Luck and enjoy the music ! .jpg)
