My old high school buddy, came to visit last year; another pal in our HS gang came from the other direction and we had a foos tournament.  Haven't played in years, but I smoked their butts anyway.  They complained I wasn't drunk enuff - I said I don't drink much anymore; did they want me to throw the tourny just to make them feel better - or did they actually want to EARN their win...

Anyway, while he was here, he checked out my bikes in the barn, got a wild hair & mid-life crisis kicked in, and he went back to Kansas and bought a lightly used 96CID FLTHCABCXYZ.  Yeah I told him but he's pig-headed, sure he knows better though he hasn't owned a bike for over 30 years.  So he bought their hype and there it is.  I said, get what you want, I'll not have you blaming me that you never got the Harley you always wanted.  But you can be sure, when it's broke and leaking, you're gonna get the "told ya so's".  I'll be sure to put SAE tools and a tow strap and a couple cans of oil in my kit.

So now we have a standing invitation for him to trailer his Harley over here - you didn't think he'd RIDE IT 400 miles, did ya?  Then we're gonna hit the twisties for a week - assuming the bike will run that long.

In between other projects around here, I got a wild hair too, and said I'm gonna make a proper mount for my digital videocam.  Made it from 3/4" box tubing and the head off of one of my old tripods.  It's pretty close to eye level, the post is dead level, so I can set the camera to get great vids forward, back, and on an angle showing me and his Harley struggling to keep up in the twisties.

I'm thinkin I'll probably modify it a little to make it quick-connect, maybe add a matching adapter on the wing so I can do vids with a back-seater too.

You do know that now you'll have to post a video...just so we know the adapter works as it should.  Quality Control is important. hehe

Hey MarkT, when you're done with the quality-control test give us a write-up on your audio setup, will ya please?
Actual schematics aren't necessary but what pieces you've got plugged into what would be cool.
Thanks!

Done already.  Wrote this up years ago, and have added edits as I made changes.  I usually use a Zumo for the player now, but I can plug in anything that has a mini-stereo plug.  Have an Ipod, Riovolt disc player, etc.  It also has a mixer and supports other inputs - radar, GPS audio, whatever - mixes 3 sources at once.  The Zumo supports satellite radio, weather, traffic reports.
