LOL.  Saturday we headed out for a combo motorcycle/car show.  Was supposed to be complete with babes hanging off the cars.  Got there about mid-way through the listed times.  There were 2 bikes.  One a late model Harley with a paint job, and the other a pretty much stock Honda Shadow.  There were 4 cars.  One of which was a stock Ford Ranger pick-up.  No babes anywhere, except my wife  Wink

It was very windy, and after riding around a bit we just went home.  Today I cleaned/waxed/polished her up.  Been awhile since I went to town on cleaning her.

I got out around town; breakfast and a stop at a trike shop to see if they will mount a car tire for me: NO. They did take the time to call around and found a shop that will with a signed waiver. I love my warm-and-safe heated gear. I had it set to dark brown. I should have brought my Zub though as my chin was frozen. Great day!

I rode to work on Friday (2nd time this year) since it was going into the upper 60s.  But the bottom fell out of the thermometer or something because it was snowing today.  uglystupid2

This was a beautiful weekend but my wife and I went another direction and I didn't get to ride. She isn't riding, so I had to play nicely and ride with her. Oh well. I'll ride for the next five days. Life is good.

We did on Saturday:  cooldude

We rode through North Georgia to Clarkesville and back over Paul Mtn. Surprisingly, after raining all night, the rain stopped and the wind helped dry the roads; it was awesome.  Cool

This is the first time I have ridden with the club where there were more Goldwings than Valks. Does that mean the club is getting older?   coolsmiley Anyway we had 11 bikes: 2 Valks (Sam and me) 1 Connie, 1 HD (Chris), and 7 Goldwings !  Shocked (including Roger, who has a new to him Goldwing but still has his Valk too.) I had about 260 miles.  Smiley

I rode on Saturday but I took my KLR out instead of my Valk or my Wing. Temps were in the mid 70's here in Socal. I had to pick up a new pair of work boots in Fontana, about 35 miles away. I wanted to try out my new Hi-Viz Scorpion EXO-700 helmet also. It fit great and is very light weight. The best part of course is that between it and my Icon Hi-Viz vest over my mesh jacket, people really saw me. I rode down a very busy 4 lane street in Fontana at noon and people pulling out of driveways stopped short when they saw me coming, the key being they did see me! Smiley I got some very strange looks from some other riders too.....After I left the boot store it felt like a great day to keep riding, so I did. I ended up riding down National Trails Hwy to a little town of Helendale. I stopped in a little market to call a friend of mine to wish her a happy birthday and get a cup of coffee. While I was parked there about 6 or 7 Harleys pulled in a parked next to my KLR. Not one  of them said Hi, how ya doing? or anything. They looked at my KLR like it was from Mars or something. No chrome anywhere and it was pretty dirty, oh well. My bike is set-up for long distance riding with big saddlebags and other bags all over it. I saw one of them look at the Death Valley sticker I have on the fairing. Pretty soon they all left and I did too, I decided it was getting late in the afternoon, and I wanted to get home and watch the Supercross race from St. Louis. All in all a great day of riding. I ended up with about 150 miles for the day. I didn't get my Valkyrie out, but it sure felt good to be on a bike period, and I really like my KLR. Before I got home I filled up the tank and figured out my gas mileage, it worked out to 52mpg! Another reason to like my KLR!

I got out yesterday with some friends but I was the only one on a Valk. We had a nice 100km run up through the twisty local mountain roads in the sun.

Then stuck in traffic on the way home

Beautiful weekend here, actually today is also great.  Mid 50's for the highs.  I took out my Valk for a short 150 mile ride yesterday.  Decided to head north towards Crater Lake area to see how far I could get before the ice on the roads turned me around.  Got about 3/4 of the way there, when the temps started falling and snow along side the roads started getting deeper.  I made the decision to do a 180 and head back to the warmer part of my world.  Headed south to the state line road between CA/OR.   I enjoy riding along  the north edge of the Lower Klamath Lake with all the geese and ducks that winter there.  It was a great ride, slow in places as on some of the county roads they use #2 size gravel to sand the roads.  Right hand blind curves are fun.   Very few bikes were out and about.

Went to the Texas Independence Day Rally this weekend in central TX.  Of the hundreds of bikes there I saw two Valks.  My orange/black and a beautiful solid yellow with American Indian paint accents complete with fringe everywhere.  He was in the bike show but I don't remember hearing the winners.  Great bands, good food, really neat bike games, and frigid cold in a tent Saturday night.  But the 5 hour round trip ride was worth it all.

Breakfast at Cable Airport, t-shirt weather in the shade, as we watched small planes takeoff.  Then up to Mt. Baldy, over the Glendora Ridge route to Crystal Lake and stopped at Berts Mega Mall on the way home where it was 88 degrees.  Cool Cheesy Cool

I led half the group.  Had a great time but was feeling a bit puny from the chemo I got on Thursday.

Funny, but more than 25% of the 20 riders that showed up are members of my North Georgia Motorcycle Club.
