As some of you know, I have been greeting the troops at DFW Airport with my dad for over 5 years now.  The Valkyrie Riders have joined my dad and I on many occassions.  The program called "Welcome Home Our Heros" at DFW is coming to an end on March 14.  Our Troops are still out there but they will no longer come in on chartered flights through DFW.

March 11 has been designated as Biker/Veteran day at DFW for this program. All Bikers and Veterans will be honored before the troops come in on the 11th. The flight is scheduled for 5:00pm but that may change so you can call 972-574-0392 to get updates.  The gate and arrival information will not be available until Saturday evening.

The Denton County Southern Cruisers plan to meet at the Sonic, 380 Round Grove Road, in Lewisville and ride as a group to the airport.  Anyone is welcome to join us.

I forgot to mention why they are recognizing the bikers.  The biker community has shown a great deal of support for this program.  I was there with many others every Sunday rain or shine in the morning or at night for more than 5 years.  Holidays were no exception, those that were in town over the holidays showed up to greet the troops.  Whenever a call was placed to assist the troops, the biker community was there in large numbers.  We made many friends along the way and even though this event may be coming to an end, the friendship will last forever.

If you can join us, come on out I promise it will be something you will never forget.

Sunday's troop arrival is 4pm at gate B 23.  The past few Sundays it has come in early so call 972-574-0392 for updates.
