Well yesterday would have been a better day but there was just too much mud from all of the snowmelt in front of my shed. I thought about going for it but the idea of slipping and falling and dealing with the embarrassment prevented that. It had dried up considerably today so I did the oil change, aired up the tires (still at more than 38psi) and took her out for a fill-up. I tell ya, the gas in the tank was pretty low and had only been in there since late October but fresh stuff really makes a difference. She ran smoother as soon as I put some fresh stuff in there. It really shouldn't matter after only five months but it did. Felt good just to get out but I noticed a couple of things:

Somewhere I lost a windshield bolt. I think it happened on the last ride before I put her away (sooner than expected due to a big October snowstorm). Must rectify this...

The sonofabitchingbastard mice used my right cylinder bank as a snacktray. Earlier in the season I found poison food pellets filling one of my exhaust pipes. Blew em right out when I ran it, but today I saw the same pellets behind the carbs. I imagine (hope) they died horrible deaths after gorging themselves on my all-you-can-eat buffet of murder.

Good to hear ya got some wind  cooldude

If ya feel like the Valk is a bit sluggish, check out the air box, as I and a few others know from experience, that mice love to build nests up in there.  You would be amazed at how much stuff (from grass & seeds, to shredded boat cushion pieces...) they can pack in there.

My fingers are crossed for my first ride next week!

It feels quite sprightly with the new gas but I'm planning on looking in the airbox anyway.

Yes, it is officially mud season in a big way.

YOU put her away with less than a FULL tank of gas , shame on you. She should have spit on you. Where did you learn to "dry dock" a Valk. Not here, I`m sure.  Evil   crazy2

I normally never do that but as I said, we had an unexpected foot of snow in October and I never got to fill her up for storage. I threw some sta-bil in for storage and kept an eye on it. I also run it on a bi-weekly basis during the winter so I wasn't worried about the fuel in the bowls. That was consumed several times over during the winter.

Its the space in the tank that condenses and forms rust. Thats why ya set er up full.
Winmkr was here from Montana last week and he rode the black off the asphalt here in Southern Arizona. I went on a couple of rides with him and he just dosent let up. He aint here ta talk.

Yeah I know that but I'm not going to worry too much about 5 months of down time.

Now Indiana is littered with illegitimate children and mice with kissable lips. Sounds like paradise.
