Now you did it, you asked the question of many answers.  Cheesy

I believe most will agree on a synthetic oil

Non-energy conserving

Now ask which oil filter to use, I dare you   2funny 2funny

I was looking to extend change intervals and switched from Honda GN4 to Mobile 1 Racing 4T 10W-40. I wanted something full synthetic and that stated it was formulated for a engine/wet-clutch application. Info from there Web site below. Picked at Walmart but over $9 a quart.

Mobil 1 Motorcycle Oils are full synthetic, high-performance engine oils formulated specifically to meet the demanding needs of motorcycle engines. It is recommended for four-cycle, motorcycles which specify the use of a 10W-40 motor oil. This product will help provide excellent performance in motorcycle engines that are designed with a common engine/transmission lubrication system. Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 synthetic motor oil is also designed to help provide the proper frictional characteristics necessary for wet-clutch engine/transmission systems.

I mash the "send me a box of GN4" button at honda direct line, and it
shows up pretty quick. There's three oil changes in a box, that's about $21.50
per change... I run it "about" four or five K... When I go to Wally World, I feel like
the witch did when they threw water on her  coolsmiley ...

I use the Rotella T6 Synthetic, also get it at Wally World.  No problems in 72K miles.

Use Emgo filters, the chrome ones.  Change oil at 5K intervals just because it's easy to remember.

Once you get the oil question solved, ask about tires....... Evil

Mobil 1 Turbo Truck Diesel Oil + PureOne

That's the one I use also.     Also use it in my Chevy Trike.    Before the red cap went away, that was what I used.

amsoil 10w-40 and either hi-flo/wix/k&n black color oil filter to match my black I/S.  I can get amsoil oil for around 10 bucks per qt., not cheap, but one of the best.  Mobil 1 is also good and a little cheaper.  Read several reports that purolator pureone and walmart ST oil filters also work just fine but prefer black color oil filters to match  my black bike.  Other oils like rotella T and other oils as others have commented I am sure will be just fine as long as full synthetic and change oil before 8,000 miles (preferable every 5-6K) and I'd stick with 10w-40 for us northern climate riders and for hotter climates even would consider 15w-40 or 50 but not if going to ride regularly in 40-50 degree weather like the northern climates have.

I was using the Rotella 5w40 synthetic and switched to the Rotella 15w40 and like it way better. Bike seems to shift smother with it. Been running this for 60,000 miles changing it every 5000 miles.

I also use Rotella. However I use the T5 Synthetic Blend 10-40. I feel the shifting is smoother and the engine is quieter.  I have had no problems at all.

I also use the chrome Emgo filters.  I change oil at 5K intervals or once a year.
God bless,

I can't believe you guys are egging him on like this.... 2funny

Amsoil 10w-40 and Pure One filter. Ain't particularily cheap, but she's worth it, and since I'm only 58 years old, she'll need to last at least another 30 years.

I thought ST was just re-packaging their filters.

*edit*
I went to Walmarts website. On the Super Tech oil filters, it said... "Out of stock at your local store"...... wow.
