A guy in a mini van on a cell phone ask's is that a 6 cylinder.
  Yes , I answer.
How fast is that , and what kind of bike.
It's a Valkyrie, I answered I do not know how fast , I never had it to 180 MPH.
Holy  (thats the last thing I heard as the light changed)
                              I guess I may have caused a little (whatever ) ?????????

It seems that folks are noticing the Valk more this year/season, than in the past...  Either that, or they are just as happy with this record warm as we are  Wink  In the week since I've pulled my bike out of storage, I've had no less than 6 people give her the 'nice bike', or 'beautiful bike you have there' , or just the  cooldude sign...  March 18th, and we should be near 80 today  Grin

i get compliments on my valk almost everywhere i stop.  imo it's not because my valk looks that much different than any other valk, it's because that valks in general have a unique look compared to most bikes out there these days (i.e. not a v twin).  it's nice to have a good old, reasonably priced, smooth operating, reliable, and unique looking bike.  cooldude

i had the "guy in a mini-van" thing also.  you know they'd rather be on a cycle!!

my favorite is "wow, that's some harley"  uglystupid2  don't usually know how to explain that one, they usually don't understand.  or you get some harley guy that looks it over and says "harley wat-a-bee".   um, like, right......

i think it's the warm weather and gas prices that get people that have never riden a cycle, starting to look at 'em more.

I don't badmouth Harleys unless their owners start it. On my own facebook page, I posted a pic of my I/S sitting on the sidewalk in front of my house. A classmate posted, "Yeah, but it's not a Harley!"

My reply, "I have nothing against Harleys. They make cute little starter bikes!"

His reply,  "OUCHHH!!"   Grin

Last week when riding I met an acquaintance at a local bike accessories shop, he rides an H/D.  He  asked me about my bike and when I planned on pulling a H/D into my driveway.  Told him I'd already done it twice.

Using my H/D tow strap I carry on the Valk.  He snarled and left.  I giggled like a little girl as he was leaving which probably didn't help the situation any.   Evil

Everyone else in the store thought it was cute.  Wink

I tell folks that if you don't like talking to people, don't ever buy a Valkyrie. Even non-motorcycle people seem fascinated by the Dragon.

With some PGR buddies today, I took a 170 mile ride today up from West Palm Beach through Stuart to Ft Pierce around the Indian River loop. We stopped at a place called Archie's ... when we were leaving, I was sitting on the bike waiting for everyone to mount up and this guy on a VTX pulls up beside me, apparently also waiting on a friend...  About that time I fired up the Dragon and the guy on the VTX gives a little start, jerks his head around and get's this "Holy crap, that sounds cool" grin on his face.

Gots to love dem Cobras with no baffles.... sounds like nothing else.  coolsmiley

My brother in law always complains about all the comments and people taking photos of my Valk and recons I should start charging a fee."All I want is some one to compliment my bike.Dont stand a chance parked next to that." he says.

I've had several Hog guys ask when I would get a Hog.  I tell them I rode one 17 years and 100K miles, and then I grew up and moved up. (always with a nice smile)

I got to work at 6:50am today. By 7:05am, a guy came in to talk about the Valk.  He didn't buy anything, was just passing by and saw it.

I got a big thumbs up from a stranger on the way home from work a couple of days ago... I briefly
wondered whether it was a "cool Valkyrie" thumbs up, or just a "cool red motorcycle"
thumbs up...
