Wondering why almost no one uses the pingle vacuum petcock?  Is it because everyone is just tired of worrying about a diaphragm?  Or does the pingle vacuum fail frequently like the OEM?

Does the vacuum have the same reduced size reserve as the manual?

I really cannot understand the so called frequent failing of the OEM petcocks.
I am on my second Valk, a mate has 300 K Kilometres on his and amongst our other mates with Valks we have never had a diaphragm failure. I have had a blocked bleed orifice in the vacuum check valve in the petcock. This causes the valve to stay on as the vacuum stays on.
If fitted correctly there is little problem with them.
If really worried about pulsations just hook the vacuum line up to all 3 cylinders on the left bank,
I have this and with a vacuum gauge on the line there are no pulsations.
I have asked the question before of Magna owners as to how many of them have had problems with the vacumm setup on them, No response.
If you are going to fit a Dan Marc, save the cost of a Pingel and just manualise the OEM petcock.
Cheers Steve

I have a feeling that most have changed to the Pingle before the vacuum model was available, or, didn't know a vacuum model was available.. Also, many of us grew up shutting the fuel off, so it was already a habit.. I have cars that I shut the fuel off on every time I drive them..

Skimping on a petcock will leave problems, that made feeling a need for change, in the first place

and developing new and previously unmentioned problems.
