Hi all,

Can you tell me which progressive shock this is?

Compared to a friends bike mine has a lot of travel up and down when I apply and realease pressure on the seat. It seems to travel a bit at slow speeds and occasionally feels like it comes close to bottom. At higher speeds it does fine with limited travle. I assume that the travel is not normal for these shocks. I plan to have the local stealer adjust it this Friday.

I have been reading that if it is a 440 standard (I dont know) that it may not be adequate for a 240 lb 6' male (no matter how much it is adjusted) and that I may need the HD spring. I read on the forum in a couple places that if you send the shock in progressive will swap out the springs for 30.00. Is that true? Do you know if it makes a difference whether you were the person who originally purcahsed them?

So in summary my questions are:

What shock is this?

Canthe springs be replaced by progressive for 30.00 each if I was not the one who originally purchased it.

I think they are 412s too.  Call Progressive Suspension and ask your questions, they have good tech support. The cost to upgrade springs is the same whether you bought them new or used.  Warranty repairs require a receipt.

Jess from VA,

You were right  I was very impressed with the customer service. Thanks for the help everyone. The fact that I knew which model allowed them to give me specific information. Best news is if I can't adjust them to be stiff enought that they will put a new set of HD springs on for 30.00 and they said they would turn them around in 48 hours.  cooldude

Thanks guys.

From the pic you are on the softest setting. FYI the more the swingarm moves the smother the ride will be. My wife and I ride 2 up on #3 setting all the time and I run a 225 car tire.
