If you are not wearing gloves, you should be. Do you need your hands for work? Hand injuries hurt. I have had black fingers from soaked leather gloves, but never from chrome or aluminum. Some have very acidic perspiration. I have cleaned them with mothers and never dullI always clean my hands with soap and water, maybe Gojo.

Change your habbits! Wear gloves. Even fingerless ones will protect your palms. Or... Change your clutch and brake levers. The chromed Kuryakyn (or others) won't shedd aluminum and/or polish residue.

I had the same problem with mine. New chrome levers fixed the problem, and added some Bling. Gloves wouldn't hurt either

Leather grip covers with or without streamers. I have them and I like the streamers.

Sheet, I just go wash mine...... hands that is.
Clear coat worked for awhile for me.
Seemed like I was taking alcohol and cleaning them and then clear coating them every week.
Cut into my riding time too much.
Now I go riding, gas up, go inside, pay, use the bathroom, wash my hands, & then off again.

I had installed the leavers from a GoldWing. All you have to do is grind off a tab and they fir perfectly. They're larger, more comfortable and I haven't had any issues with staining. They hols up very well.

rmrc51, did you use stock 1800 levers?
I'm considering them because they are adjustable and black.

Yes, they're from the 1800 and they are adjustable but mine are chrome. You have to grind off a square tab near the pivot point in order to make them fit on the Valk. I know there's some photos and a self help article some where that shows you what needs to be removed. Can't remember where I saw it as I did this around 2 or 3 years ago.

Yea, gloves will hold all the meat and bones in one place so the ambulance crew don't have to hunt all over tarnation.

Hoser, I think someone is pulling his leg on ambulance crews looking for skin on the roadway. Their main goal is get the patient stabilized and then head for the hospital. Anyway, that is the way they did it in California. They did not fiddle daddle around, they got there, got an IV started, took blood pressure, heart rate and called it into their home hospital, then if advised by the hospital, they made tracks.

Another for gloves. I helped a dude here at work whu got side swiped by a gal and the first thing to hit at 35mph was his left hand. The entire palm was a flap attached by the outter edge. Yup, GLOVES!

Are they chromed? If so, you have a nickle allergy...go back to Al. Other options are would be plastic sleeves over the levers.
