Does anyone know the bulb number for the taillight for a standard Valk?  My brake light burned out and I went to replace the bulb and there is no number on it that I can see.  My service manual only lists the wattage as 32/3cp, not the number.  I have some 2507 bulbs that appear to be the same, but the wattage is different (23/7 I think??).  Will they work?

Any ideas??
Thanks!!

Might as well use a 3496. It's brighter and heavy duty so it will last longer.

Below are the bulbs that will fit and their respective candlepower:

#1157 is 32 CP
#2357 is 40 CP
#3496 is 43 CP

The 3496 is much brighter and lasts just as long.  Google it.  Of course, it costs a couple of bucks more, but well worth it...JTL   cooldude

I was told it's also hotter and can damage your lens. Don't know first hand, because I chose not to try it when the tech. in the parts store told me that.

Only the brake element runs hotter will not damage lens unless you kept it on for and very long time. I've ran them for years in the Tourer and I/S. I added them to the inside lights on the I/S trunk to give me four brake lights on the trunk.

Thanks for clarifying  cooldude I replaced my clear lens with red and left the LED Board in, still not bright enough for my taste. So I went back to the 1157 and was considering the 3496, especially after reading this post. Went to my local parts store and got some bum information. Shoulda just listened to you experts  uglystupid2
