Just joined Harley forums USA. Weaning myself off the Harley Haters board.
Mention a Harley here and you are out on your head.
Best move on slowly.

I ride with Harleys all the time and have with you as well Al. Not everyone here is in a Harley Haters club, but you do like to throw things out there to stir the pot a little. Nothing like smacking a hornets nest with a stick to see what reaction you get and then wonder why you get stung.

Will be gone soon enough.
Adios to this place is not too hard to do.
Nobody with a Valk will ride with me anyway.
Although my Harley Firends don't mind riding with the Hondas.
Just that some people on Valks ride too damn fast for any bodies good period.
At least that is what Mike Gamble said about Joe. That is his reason for his statement to Joe

i don't hate harleys, i just don't like the attitude most of the harley riders have. most often, they draw first blood.
as for the video, i'm sure most of it is the operator.

WTF are you talking about Al....When did anybody on a Valk stop riding with you ? The last time I rode The Dragon I was with you . I've been doing way too much over-time and sick this week and I " DID " ask you to join us on the scoutin' ride we had planned this weekend...As for Gamble he could'nt keep up for shifting gears ....You was on that ride he's talking about did we ride too fast ? I think not he needs to stick with the porker runs and bar hoppin' cause its true he can't hang with us It maybe true I don't like ridin' with Harley riders mainly cause they can't ride but folks like you and Jeff who do ride Harley's and can ride I don't mind that at all.Another thing I don't like is being looked down on cause I don't ride a Harley. I make enough money if I wanted a Harley I'd buy one I don't want one its just that simple.

My best friend rides a 94 fxdl Dyna low rider. We ride together every chance we get. Several of my friends have them, and I like to ride with them. Alot of them have great bikes that function great on longer runs. I also ride with 500-1100 shadows, kawasakis, and even some crotch rockets.
It is usually the riders you are with over the bikes they are riding. I get alot of complements on my bike, and most of them come from harley riders. They are always amazed how smooth, fast, and quiet it is. Most of them understand if you are a rider, it does not matter what you ride.
I dont drink much anymore so im not riding with bar hoppers much.

2 out of 3 runs.
[/quote There is no way a 118 HP GW loses to a 96 ci Ultra Classic with 71 HP! Unless the HD was really built! And I'm not a Harley hater either but fact is fact. I am looking for a Road Glide now if I can find one reasonable, that is.

With Al, it seems that it IS what you ride. However Al, I'll ride with ya.....I'm not fast and I'm not in competition with anyone......I'm a take in the scenery and smell the roses kinda rider. And for the record.....I love Harleys.....but then again, I love MOTORCYLES....regardless the brand.

It ain't the horsepower - it's the torque. I don't recall beating an HD out of the hole, ever. On a rolling start, I always end up ahead but from a standing start, the HD has the advantage.
I could care less what someone rides or if they don't like what I ride. I ride to relax and enjoy myself and I happen to do it on one of the best motorcycles ever built. One of my best buddies has an Ultra Classic and we don't seem to have any problems with each other's bikes. We just ride and have fun together. Brand is irrelevant. They are just motorcycles, after all.
As for leaving, participation is strictly voluntary on this board. If someone wants to leave, they can leave. I'll sleep soundly either way.

A few months ago I spoke with an HD (also an Ultra Classic) rider. He has a 103 Screaming Eagle with pipes and a Power Commander and a K&N. The best he could do was 14.2 in the drags. On U Tube, theres a video of a Wing rider who has a stock wing. He went 8 runs and turned 13.1-13.4 consistently. I'd bet the wing in Al's vid is stock and the HD isn't. Compare apples to apples not oranges.

Yeah I bet it's not stock either! I have run stock HDs with the 96, 103, and 110 and never got outun. Your average stock HD I just play with them. I also have out run a GL1800. I have actually hurt a couple peoples feelings that I really liked and thought they liked me and- No cross words or anything I said or done. The common denominater must be because I outrun both of them at different times so I don't race nobody know unless I am challenged and love to just take in the scenery as someone mentioned and smell the roses! Lol! But I learned from it.

Tomorrow I'll be riding with 1 or 2 Harleys and a Valk/Goldwing rider friend. No worries, I just like to ride. I like to ride far, I like to take shorty trips,(tomorrow's will be one), I like to grind a little chrome, I like to smell the purty flowers, too. Very seldom care where I'm riding because, have I mentioned this yet? I REALLY LIKE TO RIDE! Oh yeah, as soon as everybody catches up with me at the pie store, I'll even take and post some pics! (Heh heh).

Been riding on and with Harley's all my (riding) life.
The only thing I won't ride with (or close to) is straight pipes and unsafe/inept riders. And I won't do huge parades anymore either (like Rolling Thunder).... a whole day of 0-35-0 mph accordion is not riding, more like a straight line MSF course. (thousands of bouncing babes are nice, but not nice enough to put up with that crap)
Spent whole days in WVa with small groups of great Beemer and liter bike riders too. Only time I've been 120 on a two lane.

But about 99.5 % of the ppl I ride with have Hd's and there is NOTHING wrong with that...I just wished there was just ONE Valkyrie around here! I rode with the PGR a few months back and out of 3,000 bikes I did see ONE Valk parked.

I know what you mean about the 0-35 mph and i hate it! The riding club I'm with sometimes will help out the PGR sometimes and I feel honored to do so- but man do I hate the accordian type ride you mentioned! Lol. I too have owned a lot od HDs and British bike as well...and love my Valk!

I rode with the PGR a few months back and out of 3,000 bikes I did see ONE Valk parked. We need to get together with HubcapSC.....he could lead us on some good roads over y'alls way I'm sure...... That sounds great and I'm sitting on ready! Yes I bet he does know all the roads around here! I owe him a few rides, because the last couple of times he's called me to ride somewhere, I already had plans.....they don't come any better than Mike!!...... Let's roll!... Just not this weekend, supposed to be monsoon rains! BTW,, I did see someone one the board that lives in Walhalla but forgot his handle. Do you know him? I bet Mike does bc that's his neck of the woods.

(Heh heh). Yeah I don't care what people ride, just as long as they ride. It really boils down to the people I'm riding with not the bike. But about 99.5 % of the ppl I ride with have Hd's and there is NOTHING wrong with that...I just wished there was just ONE Valkyrie around here! Don't know anyone that lives there with a Valk......but it's pretty close to where I grew up.....in Mountain City, GA.....up in Rabun County.....I live 85 miles South of there in Athens now... Hope we can figure out a time to ride somewhere.....
