I believe TT is correct one one count. The red n white 97's are the fastest. Black Valks are possibly the 3RD fastest. Blue ones are definitely 2nd fastest. Hay Jimmyt

+ 1 on the scientific fact on dark matter, i have been taking physics classes up here at Texas Tech and the professor had mention a formula (Valkyrie = displacement / time X distance / time) V=D/T * d/T this is the equation for a fast fun time hope this equation is on the next exam i have this formula memorized.

I once head the reason the black ones are so fast it's because then they were being built they were too fast to get there 2nd color. I painted my black I/S gray and it is a litter slower now.

a combination of the colors is without a doubt fastest... ITS THE SLIPPAGE OF THE WIND OVER THE DARKER POLYMERIC SURFACE... Thus...the darker ones are faster. Why do you think its so hard to get a pic of bigfoot(black) or Loch Ness(black).....just to fast for the camera.....

Has nobody studied physics. Any black meterial is better at absorbing energy (sunlight, heat etc) than light coulered surfaces which reflect energy. Hence, the black Valkyrie stores more energy which it converts into speed. The lighter coloured ones don't have this reserve of absorbed energy but instead waste part of the energy they have in reflecting sunlight, heat, etc..
Ever noticed, the lighter coloured ones are way faster in the dark ?

Its not that they're faster, just that their owners have to ride them harder to try and keep up with the blue/creme ones. Therefore it SEEMS like they're faster. The solid black ones ARE the second fastest, though.

I hate to break it to you guys- but when I was doing my desmog I was up under the engine and I noticed some Japanese lettering written in yellow paint of some sort, written on the engine block. I copied them down (camera was broken) and just now did the translation (credit Wikipedia).
red/black model: 将軍 Magical wind: 精神 baddest mother : 母
If we have any Japanese people in the club, please feel free to confirm my translation. Mark

Radiation from the sun is absorbed into the black gas tanks which changes the makeup of the fossil fuel in the tank. Once the old dino bones in the fossil fuel have been re-energized by the sun hole-flow is initiated. Since our Valks were built in America by a Japanese company the Mothra effect can be disallowed inversely in indirect proportion to paint pigments. Our stock petcocks were designed with these effects in mind.

I agree that Red / Black are the fastest, we have the best of the two previous fast model, the Red from the 1st fastest 97 model and then and the Black from the 2nd fastest, That then for sure makes all Red/Black truly the fastest Valkyries ever made!!! Love those Valkyries!

OK, did some serious experimentation and the results are not good...
Had the Green n Silver dragon sprayed with an 'Non permanent' black paint. Would you believe the freking thing is about 10mph slower than when it was green.. Now! what daft 'eejet' said that non permanent black paint would wash off..

A paint job without the "black paint only petcock" won't work and may actually cause the tank to swell which increases solar wind resistance and speedometer cable elasticity. Also, of course, the closer you get to 186,000 mph the more color shift takes place. At 186,001 mph all electrons collect in the taillight causing "tail-light envy" in the more insecure onlookers.

I hadn't factored that in to my experiment. You know, you're spot on, painting the petcock a dark shade of grey got me an extra 9mph. Have to work myself you to going all full black though, not sure I'd be able for all the extra speed.....
