Did about a 50 mile run this morning from Denton up and around Aubrey and Krugerville.
On the way back a young 20 something year old, in a modern Harley (not a V-Rod) came up revving on my 6 o’clock. This was on a 3-lane city road, light traffic.
Soon thereafter we caught a red light side by side. The kid revved and revved in anticipation of the green light.
Once it turned green I took off and opened the fat lady up. Needless to say the V-Twinkie couldn’t keep up and eventually gave up trying.
It was a nice way to end a nice run in beautiful spring whether.
Cheers…!!!

You should not waste your fuel proving something you already know. Well, at least now he knows.

If you are riding and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

I just got back,215 pm, from riding from denton through gainesville, whitesboro, tioga, pilot point, back to denton, about 88 miles.I didnt see you or else i would have waved.one thing, why is it so many of us change our seats.Mine is stock and after 88 miles i had no butt burn or discomfort of any kind.maybe because I am small.5ft 9, 190 pounds. Many guys here are way bigger, maybe they need the big boy seat.I wish I had forward controls, but oh well.98 green and black tourer is my sweet ride.

I could ride 88 miles with my fat arse on the stock seat with no problem, too. I could even make 200 mile trips with minimal discomfort. But more than that, especally 500 mile days, one after another, I gotta' have better seating. The stock seat was inadequate for me under those condtions. In fact, now I have an Ultimate Big Boy, sheepskin AND an Airhawk R. And I still am not totally comfortable, but it's OK. I'm not that comfortable for long drives in the plush seats of my Acura, either. So maybe I'm not the right one to comment. If I weighted 190, the stock seat might be OK. But since my left leg weighs 190 all by itself, I'll never know. RainMaker

At 5' 9", your legs are not long enough for forward controls. Unless ya'll is long legged and NO body. I'm close to 5' 10" and they won't work for me.

At 5' 9", your legs are not long enough for forward controls. I always thought that too until big bike things came out with their new style forward controls.i do believe i could use them.I dont see how the mick o pegs would be high enough in really leaned over in the corners positions.I aint no showoff rider, but my bike will lean pretty far over.maybe its the new metzelers. Unless ya'll is long legged and NO body. I'm close to 5' 10" and they won't work for me.
