Watch for stuff in the roadway on the Northern Side of Shady ValleyUS421.

Follow the US421 to Mountain City and look for the road that takes you to Damascus Virginia.

They call it the Virginia Creeper Trail for bicycles up there and take a picture of back bone rock as you head back

to Shady Valley and you will have completed the motorcycle play ground tour.

Have fun, limited LEOs in the area, but sometimes there for sure.

Have a safe trip.

One of my favorite roads.

If you have time do Hwy 91 and Hwy 133 I like both better than The Snake and 133 is a beautiful ride you can do the entire 489 curves of The Motorcycle Playground in a couple hours . Wish I could ride up thursday but my week is covered up running equipment trailers out of Memphis to outside of Nashville....Ride safe you will dig it...133 and 91 are the cross roads at Shady Valley Country Store.

I'm sorry, there must be some confusion, My colonoscopy is scheduled for Thursday, (AKA riding the snake), and I was wondering how much time you have after taking the laxitive to get to the "facilities".  I'm sorry, I probably could have worded things more clearly.  I'll still do a ride report with pictures if you guys are interested though!!   uglystupid2 2funny Evil angel

Sorry Charlie, I was just having a little fun and seeing if I could lure a few folks in for some comments.  I won't be down that way until the Hillbilly run.  I 'll be sure and holler at ya.

That's Funny right there, I don't care who you are! I thought you were talking about a "motorcycle" ride as well. Since you got a couple of guys wanting to ride the "snake" with you, why not make it a party! (LOL)

I'm off on Thursday, I was going to try and hook up...................

But you can take this ride solo, sorry buddy.

The prep makes you miserable but the procedure isn't  a big deal.

I would recommend staying within a "few" steps of the throne.

Hey,

Just so you know, alot of Dr's do actually take pictures of the procedure...... if they have the equipment...even video..... Shocked

And if you ask, they might print copies or a file of them.......

Then you COULD post "Ride" pictures.... Grin

But also on the serious side, make sure the Dr is actually doing the procedure and not an Intern or assistant..... Especially if you are having it done at a teaching hospital..... I have seen some "Bad Drivers" and they might not "Set up" for the turns correctly and "Point Fixate" and "Blow" the curves..... worst side effect is a perforation of your insides.....

Used to work for Henry Ford Hospital......

And I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.....

Yeah Joe, I did want to go to GOTF's but work got in the way.  It's a damn shame because this is one year it looks like the weather may cooperate.  When I was out yesterday buying my "preperations" for "riding the snake" the post idea hit me like the stroke of genius it was.  I hope Tbird and the boys have a good time.  Believe me, I'd rather be riding 421.

You DO NOT want to be outside your house when the laxative fluid / pills kick in.

Have some reading material ready and maybe some old dry leather to bite on.

A roll or two of TP in the fridge might aleve some discomfort. Maybe buy some tissue papaer with moisturizer (I'm glad I thought of that. I'll be straining next week).

+1  I had almost forgotten about how sore all the wiping makes you.

I would definitely recommend some lanolin or baby wipes and plenty of them.

Well boys,

The worst of it's in the can, Literally.  Started drinking the fluid @ 4:45, 8 oz every 10 min, 64 ozs. total.  Glad I had a good book (Thanks Paul) although I'll probably have to burn it now.  I thought for a while there I was gonna wear the throne out.  Might need to do a little preventive maintenance on her after the ride is over tomorrow.

As promised, here's some picks:

Since most ride reports include pictures of the meals on the ride, here's all I had to eat since dinner on Tuesday.  YUMMY!

64 ozs. of gatorade and 238 g of MiraLAX, I'll tell ya, as slick as this concoction is, it just might make a good spline lube, or possibly rear end lube?  Now it's Valk related.

And here is where I spent most of the last 4.5 hrs, got a lot of reading done.  (Thanks again, Paul)

I can't wait to get the actual ride pictures tomorrow, You guys are in for a real treat!  See ya then!

I told the Dr I wanted the pills. I had those last time.

I've heard that the liquid lax isn't very palatable.

Actually, the Gatorade MiraLAX combo wasn't that bad.  I had my first colonoscopy 5 years ago and they found and removed polyps, which is why I'm having this one.  I was in the process of scheduling it when I got the news about Pat.  The first time they gave me a prescription for some powder and a gallon jug with some "flavoring" powder.  THAT stuff was the worst!  Tasted like crap and hard to get down.  The stuff yesterday tasted like blue Gatorade, was easy to chug, and worked like a champ.  No more of that "not so fresh feeling".

I have 32 of these horse pills to take

http://www.tabletprep.com/index.aspx

Each pill is 3/4'' long x 3/8" wide x 1/4" deep.

Have to take 4 pills every 15 minutes for 2 hours.

After the first 16 or so the darn things feel like a submarine entering yer mouth.  Shocked

I also got not red popsicles, not red juice, chicken bouillion, Gatorade and clear gelatin to eat the day of the pill lax procedure. All items I normally don't consume  Angry

All ready for Tuesday.

Ok Guys,

Here's the long awaited report from riding the SNAKE!

We met up at the endoscopy center at 11:45, the doc was late so the ride didn't start until  12:30.  The nurse anesthetist that was passing the gas was a rider so we BS'd until I fell asleep.  I don't remember any of the ride, but here's THE MONEY SHOT:

The good news is the doc said I was a perfect asshole, no polyps.  So I won't have to ride the Snake for another 5 years.

Hey, this was all in good fun, but Pat's last request was for us all to get checked.  I had mine planned before I got the bad news.  If you haven't had one and you're of the correct age,  Git er done.

After the pictures, (which I didn't think you would post) I think I now know too much about you Joe... This thread should include a warning. When we ride together, maybe you should ride in the back from now on so I don't have to be reminded of your backside. Too funny!
