last year i tried to somewhat "flush" my radiator.  you know drain and then run a garden hose thru it, start the bike to have the impellor move stuff around a bit.....

then i refilled - distilled water and abot half a bottle of water wetter, which many folks said helped their valk run cooler.

Mine still seems to have the fan kick in, hwen i am rining in 45-50 degree weather and stop for a light,  doesn't seem righ to me.

any thoughts on how to once again flush / prep / mix coolant and whatever to help the lady

Ambient temperature has little bearing on the heating/cooling of a Valkyrie.

It is not unusual to have the radiator fan operate when sitting at idle for a period of time.

I feel you are worrying unnecessarily.

OK, thx.  was just thinking it wouldn't run as quickly as the ater wetter supposedlly helps transfer heat better and keeps it cooler.  perhaps  its not a 1+1=2 thing

Hopefully, you will get more opinions ....

I'm in NM where it keeps pretty warm.  My fan seldom comes on.  Mostly if I am in the garage tuning it.

After 12 years, I am sure that it has never come on in 40-50 degree weather.  How long are your stop lights?  Smiley

I would suggest that it is running too lean at idle.  Maybe partially clogged slow jets or idle screw passages.
