ultimate low rider findings

I've been on a few all day rides since installing an Ultimate Low Rider seat. Here are some of the things I have found...
I really like the looks of the seat with studs. Very sharp.
The first time I sat on the seat I was surprised it actually increased my reach to the ground by about an inch. I went from barely flat footed to mostly on my toes. So, it turns out that yes the butt portion of the seat is lower as advertised, but the seat itself is wider, making it harder to reach the ground. My inseam is 29.5". If you have longer legs the extra width probably woundn't come into play. Lower 12" progressive shocks are now on my wish list...
To reach the ground I find that I can scoot forward a little when I stop and it helps. The when I get going again I have to scoot back. Going down the road the seat is comfortable. As long as I shift positions once in a while I can go all day.
I have set the driver backrest almost straight up and down. No more slouching when I get tired. Big improvement for my back. And so much easier to hang on when you are ripping through the gears and firmly planted against the back rest.
Wife likes the pasenger seat better. She especially likes the wider back rest.
The second issue to be solved was that the seat moved me further back from the handlebars. Solved that problem with aero mach risers. Without the risers, I was straight armed and reaching using the back rest. With the risers, no problem. Having installed custom seats on other bikes, I was already anticipating the extra reach to the bars.
With the back rest straight up and down, the height of the windshield (stock tourer) is about the same when compared to using the stock seat. Leaning the back rest further back raises the windshield higher into the eye line. Scooting foward in the seat (not against the back rest) puts you higher over the windshield.

Al I agree the Ultimate with the back rest is so much more comfortable. I got the Big Boy and it fits perfect. My inseam is 32" and I'm 6'tall. The info on the web sight is spot on for sizing.
I have a lot of neck and back issues and really would not be able to ride at all with out the new seat and back rest. Good luck with yours.
mario you might get someone to trade. Try the classfied's

I have a low boy and love it. The one thing I did change was I put a thumb screw in the backrest adjusting. It works good so I can reach back and move it a couple turns. It's nice to be able to change the position a little while on a long stretch.
