I just replaced a turn signal bulb on my 2001 IS with a bulb from an auto parts store. The bulb is a long life bulb, but in comparing the two, the OEM Stanley bulb has a support wire that stabilizes the center of the low wattage filament (the one always burning). I have noticed that auto part store headlight bulbs don't last as long as the OEM bulbs and am now wondering if the OEM headlight bulbs have a similar support wire that contributes to a longer life. So, is there a "motorcycle" version of lamps because of the increased vibration on a bike..... Anyone have a OEM headlight bulb to inspect?

You are correct!
The heavy duty (rough service) bulbs have the additional support for the filament.
Costs a little more, gives longer life to the bulb.
