If I had to replace the Valk (not gonna, but if I had too) i would also get one of those.....

Only thing I didn't like was the crappy looking rear master cylinder and resivoir down by the pedal... loks cheap--somebody will make a chrome cover for it soon I'll bet..

Looks good!!!!!! I wonder if the black one's are faster than any other color??????  Wink

In 03 I almost bought a new Victory Hammer but I got a better deal on a 03 Valk. If I was to get another bike it would be a Victory that is unless  Honda comes out with a 1800 fuel injected Valkyrie.

sweet ride Gigster  Like the look of the pipes and how the lines move from tank to seat

good mpg is nice, smiles per mile better  Hope you continue to enjoy both my friend.

Let us know how hot it gets out in Sturgis this year.

Sorry I wont be there  the same time as you this summer but maybe thats a good thing

They are really nice bikes, couple fellow Patriot Guard guys have them.
They seem pretty well put together and the owners are as passionate about them as any Valk rider is about his.
How does actual tank fill mileage compare to the computer generated 60 mpg?
I had a Cherokee that would get 48 mpg (according to the computer) when you took your foot of the gas and coasted. Tank fill calculation was always 16-19.
No road test or long term test I ever read of a Victory got 60. It does seem many are getting 50ish at 3000 rpm or less at steady highway speeds.
You are setting records at 60.

I had a pretty good tailwind - and yes, the true test is the full tank test - just going by the on-board cpu, which I suspect is off a bit.

I have the Cross Country without the tour pkg. I love mine, it has some wind management issues that were solved on the CCT. Power is great and the weight is alot less than my ex-Valk. When looking I wanted an Interstate but for a few thousand more than a used State I got a new bike. Honda really missed out on a lot of sales when they stopped making the Valk.

If I ever get rid of my I/S,  the only 2 cycles I would get is the Victory you have or a good used 04-09' 1832cc goldwing.  Maybe by then though, they will have something else out that I will like better since mine hopefully should last me another 20+ years ?  Shocked

If a new cycle stranded me, it would be highly considered being sold if it happened more than just once for a factory flaw.  For 14-23K for a cycle new nowadays, you'd expect it to be top notch and not break down in the first 3 years no way.

My cousin has the Cross Country and he loves it.  I on the other hand am not too crazy on it, nice riding bike but does not have the power of my valk.  He has had problems with not being able to get warranty work done from other Victory dealers, he has to take it back to where he bought it.  Here in Ottawa he could not find a dealer that would let him test ride one when he was looking for a new bike so he went to Montreal to test ride one and even went back to his local Victory dealer to see if they would match the price, they wouldn't so he bought it from the dealer in Montreal.  Now the dealer in Ottawa won't even touch his bike.  Pretty sad.

Around here we have several Victory dealers, all owned by the same conglomerate.    If ya has a problem with your bike, they will take it in and fix it, but, ya'll fall to the bottom of the incoming work, if it was not the selling dealer.

On a trip, or just a local, makes no difference, you go on a FIFO deal.   That is First in First out.

This guy also has several John Deere dealerships.   They will not warranty anything unless they sell it and then it has to be the selling store.   I bought a garden tractor off of them once, with a snow thrower.  1st time I tried to use the blower it fell off the hooks and tore up about $600 worth of items.  Pulleys, pulley guides, belt and etc.    They wouldn't cover any of these items.   I had to pay the full thing.

One winter we got a pretty heavy snowfall and the tractor just wouldn't take the pressure.  Took the transmission out twice, when it went the 3rd time I took it to a different dealer for repair.   My selling dealer told me it would be at least 3 or 4 weeks before they could touch it.   Got it fixed that time and was informed, that tractor was not designed or built to take that snow blower.   Took the dealer to court and got a small settlement out of him.       Took the tractor to another dealer where a Valkyrie rider worked.   Talked to his boss, and we parted out the tractor and snow blower.      Bought the right size from him and have had no trouble since.    Ended up buying a huge lawn mower with a 70 gallon grass catcher, wife did not want dead grass laying on or in the grass bed.  After she saw the grass catcher, she said why did you let me talk you into that catcher.    Told her there was no reasoning with her on it, so I bought it. I haven't had a problem with either tractor in the past 10 years.    Change the oil, and other oil (tran/rear end) hydro stat on both at the scheduled time and go for it.

Nice Ride Gig... that bike is on my short list if  could get another bike or could not have my Valk..

I test drove a Cross Roads.... very, very plush ride... one  helluva rear suspension.  I recall that you could not even shift into 6th gear at less than 65 mph.. the engine bogged down way too much... that 6th gear truly is an overdrive.

I was very impressed over all... lots of torque... probably would scrape the large floor boards often, but it was a very comfy ride for the 30 miles I took it....  I've heard dealer support may be the weak link....

Enjoy the ride....

Nice bike. I know you'll love it as much as I do mine. I picked up my new XC back in January, and I've been riding it as much as I can.

You're right about the quick-disconnect trunk, takes about a minute to take off.

(and Lara loves her Vegas we got last year.)

About the gas milage, you'll find that you will see about 45-48 is about average for the X Bikes.

That is a nice looking bike, but if anyone is waiting on wearing out a Valkyrie to get another bike, don't count on having to make that choice.

The Wing is built for the vertically challenged, not for me.
The Vic suits me very well.
The Victory dwarfs the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie dwarfs the Wing.

Because they share many of the same features(ABS, heat, etc), the prices are in line, but there is no comparision between the Victory and the Wing as motorcycles.  uglystupid2

Besides, after the way Honda NA treated me when I HAD to Lemon Law the last new honda MC I bought - I will NEVER buy a new honda product of any sort. Ever. That's not to say I wont buy another Valkyrie, used of course, but honda corp will never get another penny from me.

Gee, 2 valks and a victory or even 2, someone has got the dough?  coolsmiley

No way would I spend 20K on a new victory or goldwing, probably not over 10K ever to be honest on a used one.  If you can wait, the price of 1832cc goldwings in the 04 thru 09' model year will go down to below 10K soon and even the newer victory CCT in a few more years though.  I can wait to save 10 grand vs. buying new since don't think my Valk will be going anywhere soon and will not depreciate too much more.  I'd never buy a new cycle though period, simply because the depreciation after say 5-6 years cuts the price almost in 1/2 and they are out there to be had at a decent price if willing to search for them.

You say the seat height of the victory is higher up than a goldwing?  Looks to me from pic the victory sits lower but the floorboards are way up front offering more stretch out legroom correct?  They do look really nice though for a V-twin and 6th gear over 63 mph or so would be nice to drop rpms and save on gas getting 50 mpg would be awesome.
