Want to thank everyone who has been sending prayers and positive thoughts for my dad

This afternoon we finally got him home.

It aint pretty there is  a  l o n g    recovery still ahead but we are very thankful
that the evening of the first Passover Seder commemorating the exodus from Egypt we
are able to break dad out of rehab/hospital

Unfortunately just as we got him in the door a call came in that his only remaining sibling his older brother died

But he went out well, had gotten himself out of hospital and then to an assisted living place, refused the meds and operation docs wanted and said its time laid down and passed  He was 84 wife gone and didnt want to be a burden or nothing had no kids  Can kinda respect how he could do that.

So hug your parents if you got em, hug the kids or grandkids and dont forget to tell em you love em

Once they're gone you wont see them again in this world

Have a zeisen pesach my friends and enjoy every day you get to ride in the wind

Well said, sorry for your loss and best of luck with your dad.

My dad passed away Xmas night/next morning 3 years ago and still think of him often, very hard to still swallow especially on Xmas day.  Now going thru altzheimers with my mom and is going to be tough as well when that time comes, hoping for many years yet to come though.

So sorry. Let your Dad know he isn't a burden and you want him around for a long, long time.

Sorry for your loss, Oss.  It hurts to lose a loved one.  I try to keep in mind all the good times.  I hope when it is my time, it will be a celebration of my life, not a reminder of my loss.

All our prayers.

Evan, your Dad is in good hands.  You've been a good son and show your respect to him every time that you post about him.  Christian prayers go out for him and your family.  (I hope that you don't mind, LOL).

I'm in a unique position. God has blessed me with reasonably good health and a great family who also show respect and love to me.  At 84 years old and still riding, I am blessed.

Thanks for the update on your Dad.  Tell him that I wish him continued improvement and peace.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your Uncle, Oss. But it sounds like you're right about him accepting the situation. Best of luck for your Dad's recovery.

Evan,

That is bitter-sweet news.   Good luck to your dad and his recovery and prayers to you and your family for your uncle's passing.

Evan,

It sounds like your Dad was a lot like mine. Be proud.
Your father passed his wisdom onto his heirs, that is what his true life mission is.

Prayers and good thoughts from Pam and I.
Peace brother.

A Happy Passover Evan! I am glad your Dad is home. Your Uncle is a brave soul who lived life on life's terms. My Uncle and G-d father choose the same route after being diagnosed with stomach cancer a few years ago. There is a lesson in dignity to be learned in all this.

Oss, that's good news, especially at this time of year. Stay close and enjoy your time with him. My dad left us two days after Christmas in 1999 at age 93 and there still isn't a day goes by but what I have questions I'd like to ask him. One of my favorite memories of him was following surgery on his right leg and ankle. The dr. admonished him to start using his walker and to "keep it in front of you at all times."  One day while visiting him, my sister called me to the window facing the back yard. There was dad, doing exactly as the dr. ordered....pushing a wheelbarrow with his walker laying across the handles. It was in front of him alright.  Grin

Very good news that you were able to break your Dad out and get him home Oss.  cooldude Sorry the happiness was tempered with some bad news too.

I'll keep you and you're Dad in my prayers, enjoy your time together.

I think the greatest gift we receive from the "power above" is the ability to appreciate the love of our families and the beauty of our world.

Glad to hear about your Dad, Evan, but sorry to hear about your Uncle. Enjoy this beautiful weather we're having, and share as much as possible.
