My Obsession

Coolidge, Arizona

« on: April 07, 2012, 11:57:47 PM »

It's a bad day when Superman points out to you that you've not been on the board in Lord knows how long ----

Excuses are like A$$holes --- we all have one and everyone else thinks yours stinks!!   2funny

It's been a busy start for 2012 - one thing after another.  Basically it's when "life happens while you're making other plans?!?"

Many of you know about the Tucumcari dispute and the fact that I am extremely busy right now - so much so that when Chuck (F6Banger) contacted us and volunteered to take care of the Memorial Weekend Ride this year (yes -- which included moving it to Las Vegas, NM) Kendall and I said HELL YEAH GO FOR IT!  If you've got the time to put it together -- because I knew I certainly didn't.

My company was sold last fall -- which so far hasn't turned out to be a bad thing but nonetheless it has been a hell of a transition going from a small company to corporate life.  I still very much love my job and am thankful every day for it --- but in the same breath I'm busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest!  Business is good and we're busy as hell.  I'm headed to California week after next, then back home for a few days before Kendall and I head out for our 2012 vacation (California coast Highway 1 here we come!!!)  We'll head out on April 26th (my birthday celebration) and won't be back home until May 6th -- talk about anxious happy campers!   coolsmiley  (Yes Stanley I'm coming to GA (week of May 14th)

But on top of how busy I am --- Kendall's down to 1 co-worker + his worthless boss (Super Suzy).  they are supposed to have a staff of about 6 (4 full time + 2 or 3 part time).  He's back to working weekends again (AGAIN) -- then to top it all off my daughter was T-boned in an intersection coming home from work a few weeks ago.  Totaled her little Mazda3 (that was less than 6 months old).  Thank GOD she wasn't injured anymore than she was --- but all the same the BASTARDS have blamed her.  It seems in the Glorious State of Arizona YOU are at fault if you are making a left hand turn and a driver RUNS A RED LIGHT and hits  you!!!  $%@%$^@#$!#!   tickedoff

We've got the car replaced -- she's finally beginning to feel better and getting over the fear & anger.  But it's been a rough month.

BUT ---- all that aside (yes I'm gonna throw in something VALK related  Roll Eyes

We did get to attend AZ Bike Week last week (oh should I go into the rant about how I'm  NEVER going to ride in a big rally with dumbass wanna be bikers that want to pretend to be motorcycle riders in a charity event?!?!)  Those who are friends with me on FB know about the dumbshit that went down on our Crusaders for Children ride with Ryan Hurst (Opie from SOA).  It was too damn close for comfort & I'm thankful as hell my loving husband rides behind me covering my ass!!  He got smacked and busted his right mirror as the rider coming up on the group too fast to stop (traffic had slowed and he was a moron and didn't get stopped soon enough) smacked Kendall's right mirror and went down sliding up behind me.  Kendall said he was litterly within inches of taking me out.  Nonetheless I'm done with wanna be bikers in charity rides.  Kendall and I will continue to participate -- donate to the cause, buy our shirts -- but I'm not riding with the DUMBASSES no more.  I'll park my happy ass on the side and watch them all ride off.   Then we'll go on about our business -- without the same dangers of being targets for folks who have no clue how to ride -- let alone in a group of 2000 riders!!

Anyway --- for the 1st time ever --- I finally got a ride picture from Bike week

Such beautiful bikes   Cool

We stood in line 3 1/2 hours to get autographs for Flo (she's had knee surgery and wasn't able to attend  -- so we stood in line for her

So yes --- Kendall & I have been BIZZZY as hell --- things appear to be on the road of recovery and vacation is right around the corner.  We'll be posting TONS of pictures from our adventure over to California and the beautiful sights along the way ...

Looks like I am clear for the Memorial Weekend Ride (if all the stars remain aligned --- we'll get to go).

Not that a lot of you have missed us -- but we're still around -- riding our Valks and loving being members of this great club!

Love ya all

Glad you were able to come up for air.

My daughter shares the same birthday, I usually head out toward her place around then, many times making a quick stop at the Laughlin Rally before hitting her place in Vegas. I'll be going again this year and on to So Cal, maybe I'll see you two on the road.

Your CA Coast run sounds great, hope you have a great trip.

Forgot to mention... my daughters name is Des.

DES, what happens if I say I never missed ya?

Only problem is, if I did say that I'd be lying.

Have fun on Hwy 1, I don't know about now, but traffic used to be horrendous around SF.     Just a fair warning.   Some of the curves on #1 can also be fierce. Once through San Fran, ya got nice easy travel.

Oh yes, North of San Fran it can get REAL foggy in a very short order.   So be careful.

Al Gore's Global Warming might have fixed that but it is very doubtful in my book.

I wore out a few power steering units in out Dodge's patrolling that road, and the 5.

CORPO life's weird aint it? Glad youre doin good. I'm not far away in Vail. Hwy-1 is beautiful and worth the effort. Watching the road and the scenery is multitasking at its finest.

Glad to hear from Kendall Easter Sunday. Sorry I did not get to call you (my lose). Lee called after I talked to Kendall and we went riding. Got back late. Spent lunch with Moonshine, Gwen, Moonshine's grand daughter and Mom. Mom was very happy to have all the family together for diner. First time since Dad passed away.
Hope you and Kendall have a great ride and safe ride out to the west coast. Looking forward to seeing yall next month in Las Vagas NM. Can't wait !!! Love you Goo Goo Magoo
