Here is day one of a two day ride I took with my wife to Sliver City. Got her to try tent camping from the back of a motorcycle.

Here is the ride report of our first day.

Nice!

I was just talking about maybe pulling together a lunch ride toward Pie Town and including the Gila National Forrest area.

Looks great, hope you two had a great time! Looks like you're getting a handle on that bike/camp thing, congrats.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

Enjoyed the trip as always.  Thanks.
We spent the night in Silver City last year on the way back from Tucumcari.  Neat little town.  Bullard Street kinda reminded me of Duval Street in Key West with all the artsyfartsyhippie shops.

Very nice! I especially liked the part about the Mrs chatting up the adventure to your daughter.  cooldude

So how was the stretch between Silver City and Datil

I've been wanting to hit the Gila NF and the Cliff Dwellings. At GOTF's I was talking with a fellow and his wife, and they were talking about Mogollon or Mongollon which is also in that vicinity. All slated for the near future. Maybe mid May after the So Cal trip.

It's a nice ride with a couple of neat things to see--"Catwalk Trail" (about 4 miles off the highway) and Mogollon (about 9 miles). Seeing the Cliff Dwelling and ride on NM 15 is almost a full day. My daughter has been asking to ride down to the Catwalk Trail, so let me know if you go.
