That moron on the bike was taking a whole lane  which is just asking for trouble

I dont know if bikes are supposed to be on the sidewalk that has a jersey barrier protecting it from traffic of not there was a clearly safe place he could have been

There may have been a sign on the bridge entrance passenger cars only like on NY roads

The bike rider should not have been struck, and the bus driver did good stopping the motorist
but the biker was an idiot IMHO

but still a bike is supposed to hug the right side of the road here in NY and should also have been cited

I think that state passed a law that allows bicycles to take a full lane. I think they did that crap around here too. I have no problem respecting bicycles on the road, but they need to respect the rules too - stop at red lights and stop signs, signal for lane changes, etc.

Watch the film to the end, it shows a sign that says bikes may use full lane.

Wow. I can't believe they allow bicycles to be in traffic like that.
No justification for Hitting and Running.
But if you are going to allow for bicycles to be on the roadways with the regular traffic as if they are regular traffic, they should be outfitted like regular traffic with tail lights, brake lights, headlights, and capable of attaining and maintaining minimum speeds on major roadways.

Right of way does you no good if you get squashed like a bug.

I agree that they should be restricted to roadways that they are capable of maintaining a speed consistent with the surrounding traffic, or have separated areas for the cycles to travel on - bike lanes, etc.  Otherwise it's just too much of a danger to the cyclist and car drivers alike.

Hey guys different laws, different countries. Come to Spain cyclists have priority over all other road users, you must give them 2 meters clear room when you pass them. Think your selves lucky. Over here you have packs of up to 30 of them 2 and 3 abreast and around twisty roads it is a real pain.
