Sip of pickle juice always works for me...

We keep one jar of juice even after all the pickles are gone just for hiccup termination purposes...

lemon wedge, covered with sugar, soaked with Angostura bitters.  Eat everything but the lemon rind.  Old bartenders cure for hicups.  Not to bad tasting either.

Heck, I'm gonna cancel our medical insurance and not pay those high premiums any longer and get free advice from all the specialists here!  cooldude

Actually, what works for me is sipping very tiny amounts of water holding my nose in the cup breathing in and out for like 1 minute all the while sipping and swallowing very, very tiny sips of water.  Never failed me yet.

For all those drs. out there need your advice,  had to almost take our 13 year old to ER last night.  She is a normal 5'4" 125lb. 13 year old in normal condition with no allergies or meds.  She drastically shook very severely all over her body like untrollable spasms for over 1 hour straight last night from 5-6 p.m.  From 6-10 p.m. she shooked all over her body off and on every 5-15 minutes or so and kept coming back.  I am sure all of us have had leg or arm/hand twitches but this was terribly violent all over her body including feet and stomach/legs/arms/hands.  She is not upset over school or anything else and was not sick or food allergies eating normally like always.  She woke up today tired and weak with a slight headache off and on.  So, we took her in to our dr. this morning shaking somewhat all over off and on while there.  The dr. checked her lymph nodes all over her body as normal and ran tests for bloodwork seeing as how it could be kidneys, low potassium/sodium,  diabetes, or thyroid, among other things testing for with bloodwork results just came back all negative.  So, what caused this violent shaking of her muscles is beyond us for so long and is not stress nor seizures.  Dr. said to eat better foods following the glycemic index chart for eating foods that keep the sugar in the foods in the bloodstream longer like peanuts and peanut butter and avoid sugar highs such as jelly beans, etc. that give you a sugar rush high and a quick letdown of insulin (tons of other foods to eat and not eat, just gave you the high and lows of 1 type of food).  Seems very odd to us how this terrible shakes could happen by just being caused by the type of foods she eats which was pasta and carrots for lunch on Tuesday first day back to school after 4 days off for easter break.  So, going to see how it goes and if her strength and shaking/twitches all over goes away for good tonight.  Anybody else have any ideas on what besides foods she eats can cause this and has this happened to anyone whether yourself or kids?   I'm puzzled and somewhat worried!!!!!!!!!  Us middle agers having to take care of our parents and kids is certainly almost a full time job in itself.  Cry
