I am thinking I need to take my Valk and talk to Insurance man.  The parts for these bikes are going threw the roof.  I just saw where a set of chrome side covers sold on  ebay.  $411.00.  The price for saddle bags or a trunk puts me in shock. Not sure it is safe to park in parking lot anymore.

You bring up a good point about "talking to your insurance man". Not all insurance policies are alike.
I have American Family and they'll pay me for the cost of accessories provided I can show receipts.
It's a rider to the policy that costs a tad more, but provides this important coverage.

You are so correct about the price of this stuff going through the roof. With my second Valk, I actually have more chrome on it than the one that was totalled. But it was painfully expensive to get it there.  Cry

Wow, I just checked out the covers and they were USED. I wonder how much a brand new set, still in the package would go for?

Ebay auctions and chromed side covers in particular have always had a tendency to go wildly unreasonable.  This is not a new development.

The worst problem with Auctions is, the greed of some people.

They think they might need the part down the line so they bid like there is no tomorrow.

I used to work for an Auction company on my days off for extra change in my pocket.

Most of the attendees were regular customers and knew the price of the item.  They would go like 2 bids above what they should, if someone else was immediately bidding after they did, they would run the price up on them and then dump it.

Auctions are a game just about like playing Pitch........

All some bidders see is that would look beautiful on my bike/car/truck/camper so they go nuts on bidding.

Sometimes I think we Honda guys are just plain cheap. The Harley guys go out and spend 20k+ for the bike then immediately throw thousands more into chrome. Then what do they do??? They go out  and tell (brag) how much they spent on their bike. And what do we do? Cry about $400.00+ plastic chrome and $750.00 bagrails, $600.00 lightbars and $1200.00 saddlebags. #*@&! with accessories, tires, gas and interest I'm well into the mid $20k and proud of it cooldude

You can buy these from Big Mike he is a VRCC vendor and a good person to deal with.

Had my side covers vacuum plated for $130.  Not triple plated chrome, but they are very nice.
