This looks esy enough to do.....lets try it. Gas your Valks on the 14th so you can make through the 15th......ha......lets try it. If you don't want to try it.....then buy your gas on the 15th in support of the the higher prices.
LETS DO THIS, ALL OF US. IT MIGHT HELP.
Don't pump gas on April,15th 2012
KEEP SENDING THIS
I'll do it! If running low, just get your gas the day before on April 14 or the day after on April 16. Every little bit helps.
In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On April 15th 2012, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.97 a gallon in most places.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets
for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on April 15th and let's try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I can't see why you wouldn't), pass this e-mail on!

If you gas up the day before, or day after, in other words, if you use the same amount of gas you would have normally but just bought it on a different day, it makes not one smidgen of difference.
The only way to have an impact is to dramatically decrease your usage for an extended period of time...and that my friends, with the busy life we lead (and antiquated work policies) is very hard to do.

Even though the gas consumption has gone down in North America in the past couple of years, I still see the price of it keep going higher. The gas companies always have an excuse as to why the price at the pump keeps getting higher even though the price per barrel stays pretty much the same or lowers.

DIGGER this no buy gas day idea has been floating around for yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeears.
Impractical then. Impractical now.
The only way it works is if everyone stops using gas for an extended period of time. Is that going to happen?

Well you have options. Drive less, particularly fewer short trips (something I'm guilty of because I don't like to food shop for more than three days in advance). Buy a more fuel efficient vehicle (assuming you haven't already done so)... It's just that this particular activity ultimately has no effect as they'll just sell that much more the next day. It would be nice if it did though. I'm with you in that it sucks to feel so powerless.

Whether we buy gas on a given day or not, will make no difference in the price. Understand gasoline (RUL) is traded/sold on the world market, we in the US pay what the rest of the world does for gasoline/diesel. Our refineries already export a million gallons a day of RUL to mainly China & India. These sales keep many thousands of US folks employed. See, we buy crude from other countries, make it into a product other countries want, then sell it to another country. And as this happens, the US stockpiles of fuels are at a near all time high. We have as much as we want, even tho it's at a somewhat higher price 'cause someone else wants it more.
Not much we can do about the price, and the NE & Florida will be particularly hard hit. Closing refineries in the NE and none allowed in Florida, fuels must be transported in. We may all be on scooters in the next 10 years.......

We don't pump oil out of the ground and into our gas tanks. We pump it out of the ground and into the world market. I'm kind of against all this "drill, baby, drill" stuff, since it doesn't change the world market in any significant way, and reduces the amount of oil we'll have for strategic purposes in some future WWIII-like scenario. I'm very against a bunch of oil-rigs off the coast of South Carolina. Obviously we need to drill some, because it is also in our strategic interest to have the ability to drill and refine and do all the things that go along with it.

In a free market, even in a mostly free market, the law of supply and demand applies. If we're unwilling to reduce the amount of gasoline we're using, then regardless of how much we decry the cost of fuel it is obviously not too high.
Many years ago I bought a house for $125,000. I would have liked to have bought that house for a lot less and could easily remember when I had purchased a home for $22,500, but ultimately I bought the house. Experience demonstrates that for me the price was right.
If you really want to change the impact of fuel prices on your economy find ways to reduce your consumption (demand). I, for one, am not yet there.
YMMV ( I just kill myself. Get it? YMMV )

Obviously, the easiest way to lower fuel prices is to ease demand. So one way we can achieve this is, on April 25th, to have everyone simply sign over their Valkyries to me and by doing so, knowing you have taken the first step to saving the planet which should be payment enough.
Your shipping costs to get your Valk to me may be tax deductible. Consult your local tax professional.

I bet he doesn't ship'em to me. It would be cheaper to just ship them to me and send Digger the bill. He needs the deductions.
Yeah, I'm sure that'll work lots better for everyone.

Stop buying gas from exxon mobile. Maybe they would lower their price and all other's would follow suit.Hit one hard then we might get a price lowering war.
