yep Emma is a happy camper, although a tired one.

they held us in the hospital a day or two after her blood pressure was stabilized to the point she can self medicate with only 2 scripts. the reason they kept us was to find out the results of the biopsy, if we had taken off there was a real possiblility we wouldn't see a oncologist for 3 months.

bad news, good news.  she has breast cancer, any cancer is bad of course, but the tumor in her neck is also breast cancer that spread. and that is the good news. there are a variety of treatments for breast cancer, the one they talked to us about is antibody therapy. monoclonal antibody therapy is the full term.

there are three differing options for cancer radioimmunotherapy, antibody-directed enzyme prodrug therapy ADEPT, and immunoliposomes. the last option is still new but they are making advancements.

there are 30 or more FDA approved antibody drugs that treat many diseases from non hodgkins lymphoma and crones disease and transplant rejection or psoriasis and melanoma.

we have a positive attitude and are raring to go.

A positive attitude is a powerful weapon. I helped my Mom through this...and it made all the difference. Something over a 10 year survivor now.

We'll keep you in our thoughts!

Sounds like the news is as good as it can be for now. Glad Emma is home, and sorry about the diagnosis, but glad the two cancers are the same, treatments for breast cancer have been successful for several years now, and they are doing things at the molecular level that are amazing. I have faith, and will keep you both in my thoughts. Catch your breath and stay positive.
