1st she went to the plastic surgeon and insurance has approved her breast reduction. So she will be loosing her 'trademark' on May 3rd.  Grin Sorry guys/Steamer!  Grin She's been wanting this since she was 14.

Picked up her a bike from her mom last night. 05 Virago 250 v-twin. Mom hasnt ridden it in over a yr so she will let Kit ride it this year. Her dad had it up to 80 but say a comfortable speed is 60-65. Needs clean up but looks good. 1550 miles. It needs carb cleaned and will run with some ether. Got a shield and new bags to put on it. Hope to go practice tommorrow.

Let her soak a couple of days.

Then try to run it again.   Hopefully you had fresh gas in it instead of the old jelled up stuff.

Let her set overnight and if it is going to work, If will take off like a scared rabbit about 10 to 20 miles from home.

I have yet to tear a carburetor apart on one of those little rascals.   Yeah it will do 60 to 70 MPH on the open road if Kit has the guts to let her arm go numb from the handle bar vibration.

brian, tell krystal for me that i hope and pray all goes well and that the surgery and healing go smooth.  looking forward to riding with you BOTH again in the near future.  i'm still healing from some minor surgery myself, and it makes it hard to get much time in the saddle. but i hope to ride out and see my son in chicago in the next few months, and maybe i could stop by and see her new ride.

if there is a drain screew accessible on the botom of he carb.. pull it and drain he carb and let some fresh gas in that way.. if its really gunky yer gonna need to pull the carb... if it runs WELL at idle thru top end yer good to go. if its stumbles anywhere pull it apart

Inlaw took the bowl of and also drained the tank. He said he had it running but started hard. Idle and slow speeds was ruff but highway speed was fine. I need to put a choke cable on so while the tank is off I might have a look see. I wanted to run it more but Kit was high from the ether.  crazy2

Re. the reduction surgery, obviously she's going to be uncomfy for a time. But the end result will be worthwhile. My wife's former daughter-in-law had it done and within days actually could tell a difference in her back. She had been constantly in pain prior to the operation, after the healing process she still looks great, has a nice bust line and can wear "normal clothes" as she puts it. Being tall and of average build, finding clothes to fit was impossible. But her biggest problem was simply her back was killing her all the time. Hasn't had that problem in the 5-6 years since, and can now buy clothes off the rack without alterations needed. And, her husband is still happy.  cooldude

Yes I was surprised at the recovery time. 3- 31/2 hrs under the knife and a hour in recovery then she goes home. She can drive in a week or so and lift within 2 weeks.

Tell Kit good luck.  I had a friend who had it done maybe 15 years ago and she was pretty sore for a good while.  But it was worth it for her in the long run.  Before she had it done, we actually watched the surgery on video of how it was done.  It looks pretty brutal.  Hopefully, procedures have advanced in 15 years.  But either way, she's probably going to feel alot better.  I know my friend did.

Got it running today. Pretty gunky. More it ran the better it was getting. Took it down the road today and wow is it fast! I was kinda scared.  crazy2 I was doing 40 mph in 3rd gear. Never did make it into 5th. Throttle once to stick but that is this weeks project. She drove about a mile around the drive to get the feel of it since its been 3 yrs since she has ridden one. She did a great job on cleaning it up. She spent about 8 hrs and a few vodka's and cokes!  cooldude
