Whew, been keeping the medical profession busy this month

I've been to two hospital emergency rooms. I've had one visit to my family doctor. I've had one visit to my Urologist. I have a cystoscopy coming up next week (no, not a colonoscopy, the other end.)

In the middle of this, I got a notice from the company that I retired from that the group insurance from them since 1991, will be stopped on July1. I will have to scramble to get individual insurance.

However, there's good news too.  the ER visits were because of a lapse on my part.  The followup should be just that, a followup.  The family doctor, I think , has found the solution to another particular problem.  The Urologist has given me a clean bill of health regarding my annual checkup for bladder cancer 10 years ago.

The VA has finally admitted me into the system since my income has dropped enough to satisfy the 'means tests'.  My former employer will be helping a little in paying my premiums on individual health care.

Also, yesterday, I rode my paid for low mileage Vstrom and it felt good indeed!  I intend to ride it 84 miles on my birthday this month one mile for each year.

All is well as of this moment which I will seize.

glad all yer checkups went well.. got my car tire mounted up yesterday. got a 300 mile through the mountains ride planned for sunday.. caant wait

Been there done that on retired from insurance coverage.

Mine changed programs and I went from $480 a month to over a Grand.
  
Found another policy to suit my needs on my own, told the retired insurance coverage to shove it up their arse when my rate went to $1,040 or $1,800 if I didn't take Silver Script, which is a Prescription coverage policy.   Told them I no needed the Prescription coverage, lady told me there were only 2 different Policies available, that is when I went off on her and her Supervisor.

Now I got coverage for me and the SO for just a tad over $500.   This damn Insurance is going to put me in the poor house.

I'm with you, RJ, and have the sinking feeling that when it does take effect, we won't be in the age group that these socialists feel are worth paying for, think it's about 45 when they want to throw you out. Glad you are seizing the day, Wayne. Nice of your old company to end your coverage. I assume they are giving all retirees the axe?
