Crazy, wild-eyed rock and roll entertainer: "if Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year,"
U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the DNC: "The question is: Does Romney agree with him? Right now, we don't know."
who's the fool?

Not that I care much for Obama, but Ted Nugent has made me nervious since his release of "Ummagumma." That is the worst rock-n-roll song ever written, IMHO.
I'm less likely to go to the Republic of Texas rally this year, being he's the headliner.
"Dead or in jail," huh Ted?

If I'm not mistaken... It was Pink Floyd that put out Ummagumma in '69 But Ted makes me a little nervous sometimes none the less.

I'll bet that Nugent's outlandish comments will get more negative play by the media than anything equally outlandish thqt racist Al Sharpton and the Congressional black caucus say.
We've got a double standard here.

Here's a sample if you want to see why I was able to forget the name. Oh, and my apologies go out to Pink Floyd. http://youtu.be/LqFUEcM9wR0

I classify Ted Nugent the same as that one uncle everyone has... he will occasionally say something that is applicable to the conversation at hand... but, most of the time he is just completely full of crap.

Make a quick mental list of important leaders from history. How many of them would have have been left with those same two options had things gone differently? Don't get me wrong; I'm not suggesting that Uncle Ted's the next world leader, I'm just saying that one can't sit quietly idle and get things done.

They played the entire clip of Ted and had him on the radio this morning. He actually works with Leo's on a regular basis. The one sound bite sounds silly but when taken in totality was fine. America needs many, many more like Ted.

That's kinda beside the point which is; by sounding batshit crazy you don't help anything. There's "passionate" and then there's "raving lunatic". Passionate and well spoken rouses people and spurs them to action. Batshit crazy makes people walk away shaking their heads. This isn't about comparing and contrasting. I happen to agree with Nuge on pretty much all things gun related, at least in principal. Where we diverge is in the method of communicating those feelings.

His statement was not a threat, but it was threatening. He may be a psychopath but he's not stupid. He was knowingly walking a fine line. His statement was designed to spur someone else into action. IMO Edit: text removed. WTH? You ask us to censor the post and then you repeat the reference?

IMO Perhaps. Which if that's the case is pretty gutless. Either have the stones to do it yourself or keep your mouth shut. But I just think he runs off at the mouth and doesn't really think. Nothing in Nugent's repertoire leads me to believe he's really that smart.

Stone cold wrong, like or dislike The President, He was elected by a majority of the people of The United States. You have to respect the Office. If he is re-elected it is the will of the People. AND, we have to protect our elected officials. it doesn't matter how much you disagree with the prez, we as a nation can agree we MUST protect him. this should be classified by the service as a "C" threat, the same as a drunk at a bar running his mouth. I'm sure he doesn't want to actually behaed anyone.

That's not an apples to apples comparison. A drunk in a bar nobody will listen to. Ted Nugent has a very hard core following, and I'm sure that there are some in that following that would most likely do what ever he asked for.

Obviously a poor choice of words on Ted's part but I don't think his point was to threaten Obama although it will certainly be spun that way. I think the point he was trying to make was that a 2'nd Obama term will "threaten" gun owners, the Constitution and our freedom.
And, no doubt, if Obama gets the chance to replace one of the Supreme Court Justices who voted for the individual right interpretation of the 2'nd amendment it will lead to the loss of our 2'nd amendment rights. Remember, the 2'nd amendment was only upheld by one vote. One Obama replacement of a justice who voted for gun owners can and will reverse it.
Also, remember that thanks to the patriot act the government now has the right to arrest (kidnap?) anyone and hold them indefinitely without the right to a trial and I think without even the need to admit they are holding anyone. At least, that's my understanding of it. Hopefully, if one of our legal minds knows I'm misunderstanding that they will speak up.
If our 2'nd amendment rights are overturned chances are the patriot act will be used against American citizens. Although, by then, Obama's second term would likely be long over.
In this new world of constant threats to our civil rights (yes, gun ownership is a civil right) perhaps the most important and least appreciated aspect of the presidency is the presidents appointment of court justices.
Both justices Obama has appointed so far are the exact opposite of 2'nd amendment and bill of rights supporters. But, since they both replaced justices who felt the same it amounted to no net loss. If one of the justices who voted for the 2'nd amendment dies or retires while Obama is in office, then Sarah Brady owns the court.
Personally, I don't think Obama hates gun owners nearly as much as Clinton did, but make no mistake, he's not our friend. One more court appointment could make him the man who took down the 2'nd amendment.

Actually even the SCJ appointment tends to be overrated because Justices that are expected to be conservative often wind up being more liberal while "liberal" justices tend to shift toward the center. The common factor being the Constitution itself.

Those secret service agents just want Uncle Ted to round up some more prostitutes - Think about it, I bet you or me would be locked up in jail if we said something like this live. Nugent can get away with it to some degree which is not equal rights for all simply because he is off his rocker more often than not and famous. I agree with our basic rights to bear arms but he should really think about what he says before he speaks publicly. You gotta admit anything Nuge does he goes in fully cocked, locked and loaded, and doesn't leave any bullets spared.

He just lost his temper. I think he is in the majority in that he is fed up with Obama's crap and can't wait for him to leave office so that some confidence can be restored to the hard working people of this nation.
I think there may be a prophetic tinge to what he said though. I, for one, have thought all along that Obama will try in some way to remain in office by some other means than re-election. If that comes to pass then there is no telling what will transpire, but it won't be pretty.
