Man I hope I don't get faced with that situation.  My knee-jerk would be to lose it and shoot the cop.  End of my life as I know it.  I'm pretty sure no law recognizes the defense of an animal with deadly force, but OTOH most pet owners regard their pet as a family member.  I'm curious what the courts have said, this issue must have tried, no doubt more than once.  As far as I'm concerned, my parrot is my child. God help anyone who hurts him, cause I'll assault that bastard with extreme prejudice.  Twice if he's a cop who knows better.

Yep. I met Randy Weaver a few years ago at a local gun show. I think he was signing copies of a book? I guess it's been more than a few years.  Undecided

Man, what a raw deal he and his family received. Money can never make up for that loss.
