Man I got to pricing today. Have been with Progressive and got on line and contacted Allstate and man they kicked  Progressive butt big time. I was paying over a $1000.00 a year for 3 bikes. Getting it thru Allstate same coverage for $564.00 a year. Big saving  Evil more money for bling Grin

That seems like a big difference. I'd carefully compare the two policies against each other to ensure they're apples-for-apples before making the leap.

Allstate has really been advertisng to riders lately.  I had them years ago and my rates went up every renewal.  I don't trust them.  I pay less than $200/yr with Progressive including underinsured.

I've been with Allstate for two years now and I find that their prices are the best that I could find for the coverages that I wanted with my two motorcycles.   They beat Geico, Progressive, and other specialty motorcycle insurances easily.  I say that if they give you the deal, then go with them until they prove themselves wrong by jacking rates up a few years down the road.  You can always shop around when those few years down the road actually appear...that is, provided you make it to those few years down the road.  Hell, if we all rode like saints, none of us would need cursed insurance!

agree with willowpad, I have allstate for past 4 years and they are cheaper than progressive and others checked on.  Until they go over Progressive or others, I'll keep them for 150 full coverage  per year except no medical expense payments.  They use to be 120 bucks per year until I dropped their home and auto coverage and did not get the multi-policy discount anymore, but still cheaper.

I had home, Auto (2), and Motorcycle (2 Valks) with Allstate.  Last year my premium for 2 bikes was $694.88.  Now that includes Michigan Catastrophic claims charge of $135/bike (thank you nofault BS).  I've had my home and car insurance with Allstate for $25 years.  I got my motorcycle renewal in the mail yesterday and the motorcycle premium went up to $835.06!!!!  No accidents, no claims.  I fired of a WTF email to my agent and requested a quote from Foremost on line.  Foremost call me at work today with a quote of $657 for both bikes, same coverage.  My Allstate dude left 2 messages saying to give him a call and see if we can reduce things.  I told him, too late, he should have been trying to reduce my rate before he sent me the bill.  I'll be getting a home owners and car quote from formost in the near future.

Allstate was cheaper than everyone else for years, but the picked the wrong time to start playin' games.

All insurance companies play games.  I have switched my car and home insurance like 4 times in the past 10 years.  Always good rates first 1-3  years and all of a sudden they jerk up the rates for no reason whatsoever just stating rate increases across the board is all.  Anyone who stays with same insurance company thru thick and thin is just wasting money.  I finally convinced my mom to drop way high American Family insurance for her home insurances the past 40+ years never filed a claim in their entire life and still charging near 400 bucks per year for a 100K valued home.  I  just convinced my mom to switch to local insurance company for same coverage for 200 per year.  Just think of all the 1,000's I could have saved my parents if ONLY they would have shopped around and have listened to me 20+ years ago.

Do you have Farm Bureau m/c insurance? If so how much is your policy. I have all my auto, home, business insured w/F.B. and they won't even quote me on my Valk because I have Progressive on it. Say they can't compete, to just keep Progressive.

Also, any thoughts on pooling a large group of club members to get a discount rate from any interested insurer? (Valks & Wingers maybe?)

I had FB in TN for over 20 years. Even when they had an increase I would check around and they were always still cheaper and yes I had progressive for the bikes as they couldn't compete there. When moved to KY, KY Farm Bureau was just as crazy as everyone else I checked out. Ins is double on everything I had in Tn for same coverage. Got cheapest from State Farm. Time will tel if they try to play games with rates down the road but they were cheaper by a long shot on everyone. Still have progressive for the Valkyrie.  cooldude

Have had FB insurance on house and cars for over 20 years. Great company.
Here in FL, FB does not write motorcycle ins. under their name, they write through someone else.

You southerners have it good.  Here in the frozen north where we only get to ride maybe 6 months a year liability alone is $800 per m/c.  highway robbery.

My bike insurance ran me $256 this year for all 3 bikes through progressive.  Full coverage with a 250 ded on the valk and liability with underinsured and uninsured as well as medical payment on the cbr 600 and vtx1300.

Guess I can't really complain about that for 3 bikes.....granted I also have 5 cars/trucks  uglystupid2 insured with them as well.   Maybe Flo gave me the fleet plan discount Grin Grin

I've had FB for over 20 years on my auto's and home. They underwrite for M/C insurance here in McComb, Ms. They couldn't compete with Progressive. I use to have Geico, Markel, and Progressive. All 3 companies beat each other out, but kept going up every year even though I had not filed a claim. I'm giving Allstate a shot and like the others if they go up I will move to another company.
