1. I learned I left my camera home, so there will be no pic's with this report. Angry

2. I learned we will have a police escort the morning of the ride, in order to get thru 3 traffic lights and to keep the ride together getting out of the hotel. Smiley

3. I learned that DDT has over 420 thousand miles on his bike and never changed the clutch or engine parts... cooldude....so you guys with over 100,000 miles haven't even hit the half way point yet.. Wink

4. I learned the hotel, ground zero restaurant would like to put on a buffet breakfast for us, the day of the ride.

5. I learned that Hal47 had a heart by pass operation and that's why he talks so fast....something about he doesn't want to run out of time... Grin

6. I learned that fon1961 probably grew another 6" and is now 8' tall, the man has to duck to go into the hotel room... Cheesy

7. I learned that White Lightning and Wolf1910 seem to always be together for these rides and we all cheer when he shows up... Grin

8. I learned that Santa doesn't live at the north pole.... Wink

9. I learned that LadyDraco still holds the record for installing light bulbs in an Interstate at 10 minutes, Lucky 13 gave her a run for her money at 1 1/2 hour.. Cheesy

10. I learned that the mine we are going to tour goes under 5 states and is the widest band of coal ever located in the states.

11. I learned that the food bank that is putting on the lunch feast for us feeds 10,000 lbs of food a month in the county.

12, I learned that the lunch is indoors, the menu will be hamburgers, hotdogs and chicken, with all the trimmings, salads, coleslaw, drinks, etc...all you can eat for 10 bucks and all the money goes to the food bank... cooldude

13. I learned that those who did not make the scouting ride missed out on a pizza supper Friday nite, compliments of Smokin'jo and BBQ sandwichs on Saturday nite compliments of Winghot, thanks guys... cooldude

14. I learned that Oss and his family are hellva nice people, they sent a donation to me to give to the food bank and I took care of that sat. thanks

15. I learned that all of the local folks that live in the towns we will be stopping at are excited about us coming thru their part of the world and are looking forward to our ride.

16. I learned that this ride has grown to over 100 riders and not just VRCC members, bikes are coming from other organization also.. cooldude..so there will be a variety of bikes to look at over the weekend... cooldude

This is going to be quite a ride in, we'll be well organized hopefully and it will be a great time for all the riders and passengers, we'll see ya there.

Going to be a great ride my friend  cooldude  I've got my fingers crossed for a beautiful weekend like we had on the scoutin' ride. Just for the record # ( 6 ) on the list...I've contacted Hodgie at the Hindu Hilton and he is going to install a basketball goal out back now I'll be able to sky over Ol' fon with a tomahawk slam  Cheesy

Be careful,  that stuff we were drinking really doesn't make you jump higher or grow any taller (no matter what Gordon says).

We'll have a mine expert and historian takin' us through the mine....We went in about 100 yards on the scoutin' ride ( we will go deeper in the mine in June ) and we stopped and he told us to look up....It was a ancient fish fossil on the ceiling in solid rock....Very cool  cooldude   I think everyone will dig this lunch stop and coal mine tour....Bring It...LET'S RIDE  Smiley

We did a gold mine tour in Deadwood last Sturgis. It was neat seeing all the old mining tools and equiptment and they even found a pair of boots in it from the 1800's.

Highbinder,
If you want to make a donation, who do you make the check out too?

I'll be there with the dirty Big red Land Elephant.  Leaving out either Thursday night and will scout other areas (backroads) on my way down.
