What brake pads do you guys recommend for the Valk? I looked at Honda Direct and see they have the oem pads and also another brand. The other brand is about 10 bucks a set cheaper......appreciate your opinions......thanks

Stick with Honda pads. I have EBC on the front right now, can't wait to get rid of them. They are really noisy, and dirty on the rim. The factory pads never did that.

I picked up some SOK pads off ebay for about what a brake pad should cost>
They are at home now waiting to go on but somebody from this site put some on last fall and seemed to like them so thought was worth a try .

Interesting.......I switched to EBC rotors and Pads after my OEM rotors had worn down.  I've not had the same issue, if anything they're cleaner, perhaps we are using two different types of the EBC's?  I use the organics..

Over the years I have tried EBC, SBS, and a couple of other brands I can't remember on our Valks. My conclusion is the OEM Honda pads perform the best overall. All brands stopped fine but the OE Honda pads are less noisy, less dusty & last the best as well. I think I paid about $37 a set from HDL. Not enough $$ savings to bother to use any other brand, IMHO.  cooldude

OEM seem to be the best in the longrun.  I have another brand, don't know who's cause they came on the bike, on my Green&Black Tourer and they are very noisy. Can't wait till they wear down so I can replace them with Hondaline.

OEM with OEM rotors is what I have always heard.  I use OEM Honda pads.  Have not needed to change rotors yet, not enough miles.

I've used both OEM and organic EBC's. Can't say one is better than the other. I'm presently running EBC pads on an OEM rotor with no issues. Folks have mentioned the EBC's are dirtier with brake dust, haven't experienced that. There is always brake dust to deal with regardless of the type of pad used.  tickedoff

OEM rotors, OEM pads.

EBC Rotors, EBC pads.

OEM rotors with EBC pads, pads will eat up the rotors.   Too hard of material.

EBC rotors, OEM pads, not much difference wear than stock, however, I prefer EBC rotors and EBC pads.  Seems like the stopping is faster with less handle pull.

Just my humble opinion.

I have the organic EBC, do not seem to damage the rotor, as advertised.  They are also harder to lock up, which I like.  No more surprises. And I like the little buzz when they are applied!   Cheesy  Hoser

I have a set by Braking. Sold through Parts Unlimited. They work fine. Half the price. They are a hair thicker to.
