So far, the trip has been quite Dandy.....I'll let the photos do most of the talking.

Cave In Rock Illinois crossing the Ohio River.

Somewhere in Kentucky....Love the Elephant

Very bizzare, finding this on Route 3 in Southern IL.....

Made it to Nashville and on Thursday hung out and went to visit the Sounds Ballpark.

Cool Scoreboard

And my friend doing the Bob Uecker..

Later in the day scoped out a location for a nice shot of Downtown....And I found it....Right next to the Titans Stadium on the Cumberland River

Ok, so far the issues.  Never thought 1/4 steel would be so soft.  But of course it is/was.....Loaded up and leaving for Dayton......I had to readjust the load........Guess hitches really are not meant to support, just to pull!!

Anyway, when I arrived in Dayton, my friend had a friend who was a master welder and he welded on 1/4 flat steel under the hitch so it will no longer bend!!    Will be leaving for Asheville maybe Sunday or Monday.  My friends will be riding in a 31 foot airstream pulling their Wing.

More details to follow!!

And the details continue:

Not sure if it counts, as the mode of transport was a cage, but I'll include it anyway....

Yesterday found me traveling South to Summerville, GA to visit the home/compound/studio/gallery of the late Reverend Howard Finster.  Finster was an artist, whom I became familiar with as he was the co artist for the coverart of REM's second album Reckoning.  The next year he also designed the cover for Talking Heads Little Creatures Album, which went on to win best album cover of the year.  Very excitied to photograph his place referred to as "Paradise Gardens"..  Upon arrival, unfortunately, it was not like Green Day's Song, Welcome to Paradise.  It was more like Welcome to Un-Paradise.  The gallery was closed, even though it was supposed to be open, as it scheduled hours were 12-5.
Even more unfortunate the property was surrounded by chain link and barbed wire.   A few images were made.....

After the letdown, but a few chuckles, we headed back to Dayton with a quick stop in Chattanooga.  Some very cool buildings, both old and new.  Unfortunately,  didn't get to see the very cool aquarium, but did find these interesting buildings.

That's all for today.  Going to get suited up, head North to Sweetwater, TN to hookup with Smokin Joe and others for a day of riding in NC.....As the weather is horrid in Asheville, delaying our departure for camping for a bit.

Nice report, great pics. Be sure and deduct that ferry ride from the total distance you rode the Valkyrie. LOL

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

What kind of weight do you have on the cargo rack? never saw one bend like that. Nice shot of the city maybe a cool night shot too. Like the report so far, keep them coming.
