Thanks Dale.  I'm a Navy vet (1964-1968), and then spent 30 years as a civilian working for Dept of Defense.  While working for DoD stateside I got disappointed in the military membrs I saw.  Mostly in the military because they couldn't find anything better to do, uninspired, just going through the motions to collect their pay.  But I also spent time overseas in Italy, Middle East, Guantanamo Bay, Germany and the Balkans.  What I found was that the military was very good at taking those soldier and sailors who were really motivated and putting them in key spots, and the other, less dedicated members, were in administrative positions.

I spent time living with the troops and found that those on the front line were very dedicated, focused young warriors.  At chow in the morning I observed these young men and women with their loaded weapons by their side, eating breakfast as they got ready for their tour of duty.  No joking, playing around, or other nonsense.  They were prepared to do their duty.   Then at dinner I would see the same kids laughing and joking and just being kids again.

We can be very proud of these service members, and thankful for what they sacrifice.

Thanks Dale,
I served on 688 class fast attack submarines. 1979-1985. I was and still am proud to be a "bubblehead". Anyways, thanks Dale for thinking about "us". Remember, all gave some, some gave all.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks Dale.  US Air Force 1966-1969.  Aircraft weapons specialist.  Let us remember those who are currently serving and pray that the country continues to support their efforts.  I hope nobody comes home to the disrespect that the Vietnam Vets faced.  I pray that the current political agenda  does not erode the spirit and support of the country for those who serve today.
