I had a real slow leak in a low mileage rear tire, so I decided to try some Ride-On.

I ordered the Ride-On at the local shop, and picked it up yesterday.

Poured in about 11 oz as per the directions this morning, and called
up Stanley Steamer to see if he was up for a ride... he was so I headed out
through the Georgia countryside to meet up with him at McD's in Hartwell...

Tire pressure was still good at McD's, and I yanked off my balance weights
when I was pouring in the Ride-On, still felt great.

Stanley Steamer lead, and we took a very non-direct (but good road) route
to Cornelia. Stanley was attracted to Cornelia by a BBQ-taste-off. After
that we went on 197 and past lake Rabun...

There's an old touristy place at Tallulah Gorge that's kind of been
left behind in time by the re-routing of Hwy 441, we stopped there
and stared off into the gorge and drank cokes in returnable bottles...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallulah_Gorge

After that we took off on old-441 to Clayton and we split up there. I came
back home to South Carolina over the mountain on 76 and hit Unity Church
Road to miss the Andy Griffith festival crowd in Westminster...
All day long the air was thick with the smell of blooming Chinese Privet,
which covers the South now... I love the spring!

What did you do with the Hoppe ? I've had the trunk mod done on my bike for years I'm thinking of pulling it and the Hoppe for the summer at least.

Mike called me up and lit a fire under me to meet him for a ride in the North Georgia area.....I had tilled up 2/3's of my back yard the and re-seeded it last night, so I had to take the other exit out of it over some huge white oak tree roots....jumped them and got on the pavement and headed North to meet up with him in Hartwell....it had taken me longer to get going than I had planned, and I was running a few minutes late......I passed him going the opposite direction a few miles South of our meet-up point, so I pulled off the road and he zipped around and met me.....we back tracked to the Mickey D's so he could get some coffee and me to  answer the call of the peanut bladder..... Cheesy

I took us on a circuitous route to Cornelia where a Cousin had told me there was to be a BBQ festival in progress.....after a couple of laps through town, we found a place to park......had another bladder break, and then found out only a couple of folks actually SELLING BBQ...... Shocked Shocked......the line was too long for me and Mike told me he'd had BBQ the night before, so we went to plan "B".....we walked a block across the street to Fender's Diner.....an old diner decorated in the 50's theme......they had fried green tomatoes on the appetizer list, so we had to try those out......YUMMMYY!!......

Mike then stunned the pretty little waitress by ordering HALF of the menu..... Shocked Shocked Shocked Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Actually, he just had a burger and a salad and I had a light lunch of a fried chicken breast, potato salad, black-eyed peas, cornbread, mashed taters and gravy, green beans, and fried okra.... cooldude

then it was off for some more good riding......up around Lake Rabun where we hopped off long enough to snap a pic or two.....

Mike asked me to take him back to Tallulah Falls Gorge where the Great Wallenda walked across it in 1970....the year I was born......

We drank one of the little bottled Cokes as we sat in the glider on the porch overlooking the Gorge....listening the the water roar down below.....

I split off from Mike in Clayton and then headed 3 miles North to Mountain City, GA to see my Mother and Aunt and Uncle.....here's a pic of my childhood home.....my Brother owns it now.....looks like he's added a front porch onto it......and has the front yard trashed up in true Redneck fashion..... Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

Had a good visit with Mama.......then headed back South to avoid a rainstorm creeping up on me.....I had time to stop at one of my favorite BBQ places for a pint of Brunswick stew.....since I'd had a "light" lunch...... cooldude cooldude

All in all it was a great day.....Mike and I had gotten sprinkled on only once.....not enough to do any damage.....then there was the good roads we were able to ride.......good food......Family visit....can't ask for much more than that....... cooldude cooldude Smiley Smiley

What did you do with the Hoppe ? I've had the trunk mod done on my bike for years I'm thinking of pulling it and the Hoppe for the summer at least.

I had to take it off when I got the Cobra lightbar... it was too tight a fit, the Rivco light
bar fit just right with the Hoppe...

While I was looking all around for some 3.5 inch lights to hopefully make the Hoppe get
along with the Cobra lightbar, I started to realize that maybe I like riding without the
fairing...

Your shiny chrome-encrusted yellow bike would look real good set up solo  cooldude

Hey Stanley, glad you beat that giant rain storm, it looks like it still hasn't gotten to
Athens... I hope it makes it here...

Nice post and pics you guys.

Stanley was attracted to Cornelia...

So where is the pic of Cornelia?

While you were doing this I was mowing the lawn and cleaning the ton of oak pollen.  I left the mower on the curb to wash it (as I have done for years)..... 15 minutes later I discover someone thought it was trash and took it home with them.  I guess I won't do that anymore.   Lips Sealed

24 hours and 200+ miles later, my air pressure is still perfect (I just went out and checked)...

I took off the wheel weights when I put in the Ride-On, it didn't cause any problem...

Tallulah Falls is on hwy 441 in North East Georgia.....right in the very corner of the State near the NC/SC borders....it's on the Habersham/Rabun County line.....on the Old Historic section of 441........I bet a Google search would have a map link.......It's the "Grand Canyon" of the East...... cooldude

Great pics, thanks.  Looks like nice ride.

Brings back memories of early 60's when my parents would load up station wagon with kids and head from FL to NC for "vacation".  Very similar to Chevy Chase's.  We ALWAYS stopped at Tallulah Gorge.

I found a few old pics from internet and it brought back some of those memories of the 12 hour car rides to cabins east of Franklin, NC
