OR you can flip it to show that overspending by Euro Labor/Liberal/Socialist Govts has resulted in the NEED for austerity.

Otherwise why are SO many countries, Hungary the lastest, needing financial bail outs???

A lesson we need to learn.

But here we can borrow $billions from the Chinese AND print our own money.

EU countries can't print their own they are controlled by the European Central Bank.

Facts are such a nuisance.

Not my words

To put China's ownership of U.S. debt in perspective, its holding of $1.2 trillion is even larger than the amount owned by American households. U.S. citizens hold only about $959 billion in U.S. debt, according to the Federal Reserve.

Other large foreign holders of U.S. debt include Japan, which owns $912 billion; the United Kingdom, which owns $347 billion; Brazil, which holds $211 billion; Taiwan, which holds $153 billion; and Hong Kong, which owns $122 billion.

You do know that as a percentage the USA has more debt than any of the Euro countries? Yet we have a Fed Govt and some State Govts who believe that the way out of a financial crisis is to increase Govt spending.

Please answer this question.

Where does the money come from that the Govt spends?

If it's fair for PresBO to blame Bush after 3 1/2 years is it MORE than fair for David Cameron to blame the previous Labor Govt after only 2 years?

our economies are all linked, where go one we all go. austerity measures aren't going to work with one of the biggest economies dragging along like ours is.

Do you have any facts to back up your opinion?

Otherwise why are SO many countries, Hungary the lastest, needing financial bail outs???

Your right stop bailing out the rich and take care of the working class.

But here we can borrow $billions from the Chinese AND print our own money.

EU countries can't print their own they are controlled by the European Central Bank.
Nether can we. the fed is not a government entity, its a Privately owned bank, like the European Central Bank.

Facts are such a nuisance.
No not in my world.

Not my words

Sounds like they think we are a good bet.

Other large foreign holders of U.S. debt include Japan, which owns $912 billion; the United Kingdom, which owns $347 billion; Brazil, which holds $211 billion; Taiwan, which holds $153 billion; and Hong Kong, which owns $122 billion.

See above.

You do know that as a percentage the USA has more debt than any of the Euro countries? Yet we have a Fed Govt and some State Govts who believe that the way out of a financial crisis is to increase Govt spending.

See 1930 crash, you don't cut your way out of a depression.
!Some say it was WW2 that pulled us out of the great depression. Probably right , seeing how it was the biggest government spending program in history.

Please answer this question.

Where does the money come from that the Govt spends?

If it's fair for PresBO to blame Bush after 3 1/2 years is it MORE than fair for David Cameron to blame the previous Labor Govt after only 2 years?

Is it fare that so many blame Obama for not turning around 30 years of trickle down B.S. in less than one term, with a record number of filibusters from the cons,?

One can't have ones cake and eat it too you know.
Apparently you can, if you build weaponry. Sad

yeah, but EVERYONE is like that.  every single person i've ever known believes their way is the right/best way.  when i was a "born again" idiot i was told that ONLY christians would be in heaven and that cathalics and lutherans were going to hell.  just like around here, if you don't hunt and fish you're a wierdo.

i liked it when the commen belief was that liberal democrats are all "tax and spend" and republicans were all "thriftie and compationate".  then clinton came in and that was the last time that our deficiate was flat lined.  i don't care if you're a liberal or a conservitive, your number one concern is you.

+1...ALL politics are local, what does it mean for me.  Everyone I would think is in agreement about the enormous National Debt, but nobody is willing to sacrifice their program or any part of their program for the greater good.  Republicans and Democrats...good and bad, potAto potato, liberal or conservative, it's all about what's in it for me.

..........liberal or conservative, it's all about what's in it for me.

Actually, I believe most conservatives nowadays aren't concerned with what's in it for them, rather it's they're tired of overpaying for what's in it for everyone else.  This is what I hear and read.  After all is said and done, a taxpayer/homeowner in my area is taxed at around 50% between payroll and property taxes.  And that's before sales tax, gas tax, road and bridge tolls (tax), $60 user fee (? ? ?) to register a car, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.,

I think you are right if you are talking about the common man...not politicians though...conservative and liberal both want their own programs. One side supports the poor way to much and the other supports the wealthy way to much..I wish one group would worry about what is good for the country.

But isn't it your CHOICE to live there and pay all those taxes  Evil  (...sorry I just had to).

Seriously though, where I live the taxes are very low comparable to the rest of the country. Housing costs are also THE lowest in the country. Wage rates reflect that though.

Yes, it was our CHOICE, and sometimes I wish the choices we made before that one could have been different, but we based our decisions upon what our deal was at the time.  We could move, but one of us would have to drive A LOT further away from work and we'd just make up that money in gas and wear-n-tear, not to mention the longer commute  crazy2   6 of one, half dozen of the other.
